Fire Emblem 6 Support System FAQ Version 1.1 By Juigi Table of contents 1. Introduction 2. Version notes 3. How to use the Support system 4. Support Lists 5. Effect on stats 6. Some things to note but aren't related to the Support System 7. Credits 1. Introduction Hello. In case you don't go to the GameFAQ Boards, I am Juigi, elder half of the Kario Brothers, who are ripoffs of the Mario Brothers (from the Mario series). My email address is figaro_brothers@hotmail.com. But enough of that. Fire Emblem is a Strategy RPG series that has yet to be in America. So why are Marth (from Fire Emblem 1 and 3) and Roy (from Fire Emblem 6) in Super Smash Bros. Melee? Because SSBM was made in Japan. Both characters were the Lord/Leader of an army in their respective games, so they needed to survive for you to avoid Game Over. Anyway, I'm making this FAQ because I've had enough of the constant problems I had to deal with involving the Support System, and I'm sure some other people may be dealing with them too. Pegasusknight.com has much info on the support system, but the site is in Japanese. 2. Version Notes Version 1.1 (6/30/2002) - Errors I noticed when 1.0 was released on GameFAQs are fixed. I also added a new section (not related to the Support system) and some info about how to get two people to support (the latter courtesy of "captamzai" from the GameFAQs boards, though he got some of the info from Pegasusknight.com but at least he confirmed some of it). Version 1.0 (6/29/2002) - I just realized as I sent this that I forgot some things. Well, they should be in there now. And I completed the Support lists too. Version 0.2 (6/18/2002) - Just the Support Lists needs some finishing, but it is quite a bit. 3. How to use the Support system First off, in order to have 2 people support each other, you must have both of them attack together, stand next to each other, or, more importantly, have them participate in the same mission. Once they are ready to increase their support level (check the menu to make sure), have one talk to the other, and walla. Increased stats. From what I heard though (and I think the source (probably Pegasusknight.com) is correct anyway), the stat increases don't take effect unless BOTH of the people who support each other are participating in the battle. Thankfully, you should worry about survival of ALL units anyway since dead units can't be brought back to life, but that eliminates only half the problem...... Anyway, there are 3 levels of support: C, B, and then A. C requires the friendship rating of the two people supporting each other to be 60, B requires 120, and A requires 200. 4. Support lists Here's how to use these lists: Name (Element of person): Possible partner's name (element of possible partner, starting friendship rating/friendship rating increase rate) Roy (Flame): Effect on Stats Well, if one of my sources is correct (likely), stat changes don't take effect unless the 2 people supporting each other are participating in battle. Elements of the two people supporting each other are important to stat change. Here's a table of stat changes: Element 1 Element 2 ATK DEF Hit(/5) Evade(/5) Crt Hit(/5) Crt Evd(/5) Flame Flame x 0 x x x 0 Flame Thunder x/2 x/2 x/2 x x x/2 Flame Wind x 0 x x/2 x x/2 Flame Ice x/2 x/2 x x x/2 x/2 Flame Darkness x/2 0 x x x x/2 Flame Light x x/2 x x/2 x 0 Flame Reason x x/2 x/2 x x/2 x/2 Thunder Thunder 0 x 0 x x x Thunder Wind x/2 x/2 x/2 x/2 x x Thunder Ice 0 x x/2 x x/2 x Thunder Darkness 0 x/2 x/2 x x x Thunder Light x/2 x x/2 x/2 x x/2 Thunder Reason x/2 x 0 x x/2 x Wind Wind x 0 x 0 x x Wind Ice x/2 x/2 x x/2 x/2 x Wind Darkness x/2 0 x x/2 x x Wind Light x x/2 x 0 x x/2 Wind Reason x x/2 x/2 x/2 x/2 x Ice Ice 0 x x x 0 x Ice Darkness 0 x/2 x x x/2 x Ice Light x/2 x x x/2 x/2 x/2 Ice Reason x/2 x x/2 x 0 x Darkness Darkness 0 0 x x x x Darkness Light x/2 x/2 x x/2 x x/2 Darkness Reason x/2 x/2 x/2 x x/2 x Light Light x x x 0 x 0 Light Reason x x x/2 x/2 x/2 x/2 Reason Reason x x 0 x 0 x Of course, Element 1 is one person's element and Element 2 is the other person's element, x = the support level, and Support Level C = 1, Support Level B = 2, and Support Level A = 3. Note: When Hit(/5), Evade(/5), Critical Hit(/5), or Critical Evade(/5) is x, Hit, Evade, CH, or CE is 5x. So if you have 2 people of the Darkness Element support each other, they will have all listed stats except Attack and Defense increased by 5 points each per Support Level. See a pattern here? Well, for each person whose elemental is weak in a specific area, you lose half a point (and it is rounded down too). And here are the weak points of each elemental: Flame: Defense and Critical Evade Rate Thunder: Attack and Hit Rate Wind: Defense and Evade Rate Ice: Attack and Critical Hit Rate Darkness: Attack and Defense Light: Evade Rate (both types) Reason: Hit Rate (both types) 6. Some things to note but aren't related to the Support System This section is here because there is some info on the GameFAQs Boards worth keeping safe and sound, but they aren't related to the Support System, and the FAQs currently up don't have everything for some of these things. I might have done an FAQ but you never know if Nintendo Power does a Player's Guide for this game the minute it came out in America, and I'm a bit lazy anyway. Oh well. Here is the worthwhile info. Gaiden Chapters Here's how to reach them: Chapter 8 Gaiden: Keep Relina alive. Chapter 12 Gaiden: Finish within 20 turns. Chapter 14 Gaiden: Keep Sophia alive and finish within 25 turns Chapter 16 Gaiden: Keep Douglas alive Chapter 20 Gaiden: Keep either Dayan or Yuno alive (different person appears depending on what branch of the story you go down) and finish within 25 turns. Chapter 21 Gaiden: Keep Miledy alive and finish within 30 turns. Source: Sinespe Also note that if you miss one of the Legendary Weapons you get from the Gaiden Chapters, you won't advance past chapter 22 apparently. (Source is "TheyCallMeSlimShady") Different paths: Chapters 10 and 11: In chapter 9, if you saved the left of two villages, you should get a Killer Bow and thus you'll go on the A route, whereas if you save the right, you should get a Rest Staff instead and you'll go on the B route. (Source is y3kman) Chapters 17 through 20: For Path A, have your Nomads at higher levels. For Path B, have your Pegasus Knights at higher levels. (Source is "Lord Alvein") Secret characters: You get each of these characters in this order each time you beat the game: 1. Narshen 2. Gale 3. Hector 4. Brunya 5. Eliud 6. Murdock 7. Zephir 8. Ginevia/Guineire (I heard you get him/her 9th time instead of 8th) Source: Shinigami 7. Credits Before I get to the credits, I'd like to point out something: do NOT bother sending the following to my email account: *Anything over half a Megabyte. My box is already using almost half of the space, and I constantly get spam too. *Flames. They will not be tolerated. You will instead get counterflamed AND blocked. *Criticism unless it is good enough. It won't be tolerated either, but you'll just be blocked. *Spam. I get enough of it already. You'll be counterspammed, flamed, AND blocked all at once, and if you think of blocking me first, I'll report you to your email service if you do this. *Prejudice. Yes, I am listing this and I'm sick of it to no end. Long story. If you decide to be prejudiced, you'll be reported. *Any information I find/know to be false. You will be malleted as a warning, and if you continue, you'll be blocked as well. *Any unreasonable attempts to be funny. This includes but is not limited to "I can't get in the FAQ. Get in it for me, Juigi", "I have a suggestion: EVERYBODY dies", and such. None of that is funny, and instead, you will be blocked on the spot if you even try. Excuse me if I'm being harsh; I just don't want any trouble. Strict? That I have no problem with. If you want to report anything though, do so, but be nice about it. Anyway.... About all of the info courtesy of a source that wasn't mentioned before is courtesy of Pegasusknight.com (Japanese site, but I used a translator to get around the language barrier, I got a link from somebody on the GameFAQs Boards) and "lordalvein" from the GameFAQ Boards, but the info is just here so that you have some sort of source to read off of without going to either place. (I don't know for sure if all the info is right, but I doubt any of my sources are lying, wrong, or anything like that, even though I know it is very possible since I haven't confirmed for myself.) I'd like to thank Nintendo, and Intelligence Systems for this game AND SSBM, and anybody else involved in making SSBM, since SSBM is pretty much the reason why I even play Fire Emblem games in the first place. This is copyright 2002 Juigi and both of the sources. If I find out you've been copying or selling this without permission or doing any other illegal stuff involving this, you're gone!
