Translations: New & Old Features a. Eggs: As the story progresses, you will get an egg. As you continue to battle other Pokemon, the egg will incubate naturally and eventually hatch. b. Pokecenter: When you go upstairs, you will enter the "Time Capsule" room. This is the place where you can exchange Pokemon from the Red, Blue, Green and Yellow versions. c. Poke Gear: When you use the PokeGear, you can access the town map and make phone calls: (a) tells you that you are at SHIROGANE-YAMA, or Platinum Mountain. (b) is the Town Map icon. (c) is the Handy Phone icon which you can use to hear information from your mother, friends or the professor. d. Start Menu: Pokemon: View your current pokemon Knapsack: accesses items within your knapsack Time: sets the time Status: Number of badges you've won, etc. Save: Save your game Options: let's you modify several options to your liking Exit: quits menu e. Walkthrough *Initial Setup* The game will prompt you to set two options (I have no idea what they mean so I just chose the default values 10 and 0). Next you'll get a chance to name your character. After this, your mom will unlock the Time(??) command on the start menu (it's the 2nd one). 1. Home Town Items: 3000 yen (you get this initially), Potion x1 Pokemon: N/A Comments: After exiting your house go to the house to the left. This is the Professor's Lab. Talk to him and then you'll given a chance to choose 1 out of the 3 pokemon on the table. Upon leaving the lab, his assistant will give you a potion on your way out. You also recieve a PokeDex from after talking to him. IMPORTANT: You heal your Pokemon by accessing the computer to the far left of the room! Finally, head left and leave the town 2. Route 29 Item(s): Potion x1, ????(you get this by examining a tree) Pokemon: Gold- Pidgey, Otachi Comments: As you continue towards the left you'll evetually pass a large house. This is a junction to another area(Route 46). However, currently it is a dead end. Continue your way to the west until you enter a town 3. Route 46 Item(s): None Pokemon: Geodude, Sparow, Rattatta (appears later) Comments: Dead end here. 4. River Town Items: Potion x1 Pokemon: N/A Comments: Talk to the old man at the front if you want a tour (he also gives you a potion). Route 30 is the path located north of the town. Shop: Potion 300 ???? 100 ???? 200 ???? 250 5. Route 30 Items: Mild Potion x2 (search the tree and one from the the man in the house), ???? (100), Pokemon: Gold- Caterpie, Metapod Silver- Comments: Make your way far north until you reach a house at the end of the path. Inside, you'll get a Pokedex. Your pokemon will automatically be healed. After exiting the house, your cell phone will ring. Return to River Town and attempt to exit the town to the right path and then you'll met your new rival and a battle will ensue. Boss: Your Rival Pokemon: No# 155 Hinoarashi Level: 5 Item(s) Recieved: 300 yen Return to the Professor's House in Home Town. 6. Professor's House - Home Town Items: PokeBall x5 Pokemon: N/A Comments: Here you'll get a chance to give a name for your rival. After, talk to the Professor. On your way out his assistant will give you five PokeBalls. Leave the town. 7. Route 29 Items: None Pokemon: Gold- Ratatta Silver- Comments: Upon leaving the town, one of the trainers out side will ask you if you want to know how to catch a pokemon. Choose yes if you wish. 8. Route 30 Items: ????(near the entrance of the cave), PokeBall (west of the cave), ???? x3(next to a man) Pokemon: Gold- Ratatta, Caterpie, Metapod, BellSprout Silver- Battles: 4 Trainers Comments: Once you reach the end of the path (way north) your cell phone will ring. Continue north. There's no point in exploring the cave unless you have the Flash TM so skip this area for now and head west.
