This is my first time writing a FAQ so please be patient! Yesterday I went out to the mall and I saw this game. I said "Cool," and bought it. I don't regret it! Ok, so maybe the sounds not very good, the colors a bit off. But it's a challenge, which I like. Expect this to be updated as I go along. -------------------- 2. Version History -------------------- 12/5/99 Version 0.1- Um, the first version? ---------- 3. Story ---------- You and your faher take a trip on a huge ocean liner for your tenth birthday. He gives you a real hunting knife! (joy to the world!) Suddenly, a tidal wave capsizes the boat. A monkey wakes you up and after looking around, you realize you are alone. And you must somehow manage to stay alive. And find a way home. --------------- 4. Characters --------------- You- You are the main character, you can choose whether you are male or female. You can name your character, up to four characters. Father- He is presumed to be dead, as he does not wash up on the island with you Monkey- He wakes you up when you wash up on the beach. These are the only characters I have encountered so far! ------------- 5. Controls ------------- Start- Brings up menu Select- ?? A Button- Selects an item B Button- Use item equipped to it. ---------- 6. Items ---------- Here I will list the items I have come across before. You may have found other ones, so it might not be in here. Hunting knife- kills animals and cuts grass Radio- listen for ships Matches- um, light things on fire? Canteen- holds water Stick- makes kindling Feather- ??? Bark- makes kindling Kindling- gives you the power of fire Big rock- ??? Weak tree- makes bow and fishing rod Ivy- makes bow Fish hook- makes fishing rod Big Stick- moves rocks Pointed rock- makes arrow Three or more of these items can be merged together to make a new tool or something like that! :) Bark + stick = kindling Ivy + weak tree = bow Fish hook + weak tree = fishing rod Stick + feather + pointed rock = arrow ---------------- 7. Walkthrough ---------------- Here is the moment of truth… I have never EVER written a walkthrough before so please bear with e. Along the way, I have inserted some helpful (or not so helpful) tips. So we continue on.. You wake up on a sandy beach, probably cold and hungry. Nearby is your backpack. Inside is your hunting knife, some matches, and a radio. To the right are some bushes. Just whip out your knife and equip it so you can cut the bushes. Here you will find a canteen that you will store your water in. You will also find a stick. Continue west (left) until you find another bush. Cut this down and enter the forest. Tip: You may have found some clams. Do not eat them! They will make you sick! You can store them if you want but food can go bad pretty quick if it isn't preserved! Inside the jungle, you will find yet another bush. Cut it down and you will find the feather and some bark! Lucky you! Combine the bark and the stick to make kindling. You now have fire to cook your food! Tip: To cook food, equip the food on your B button and start a fire. Select the food and choose "Burn." Bon Apetite! Contie west until you can't go any further. There are many bushes, but you only need to cut one. Cut the bush that is in the lower right corner. Find a stick here! (joy!) Cut the bush north of the screen to find a little house. You can go inside but you can't save yet. If it is raining, you will have to explore a bit more to find a cave. Otherwise, you can sleep in the house. When you wake up, SAVE YOUR GAME! Head northeast to find a small river. You can refill your canteen if it is empty! Now that your thirst is quenched, find some berries or kill a small creature to eat. Also around this area you can find some ivy, a big rock, and a weak pathetic little tree. Make the bow out of the tree and the ivy. Fill your canteen again and head east. Here is another little beach with a tiny hut. Sleep here, but only if you have a fire because the animals will eat all of your food! On the beach you will find another wimpy tree and a fishing hook. Merge them to create the fishing rod. Go east until you reach the swamp. Snoop around and you will find the big stick. It can move heavy rocks! The swamp water will make you sick so don't drink it!! Leave the swamp and head back the hut. Save and get a good nights sleep! When you wake up, head north to the big rock you couldn't move before. You can now with the big stick. Head west into the Monkey's Maze. The stupid chimp snatches your knapsack! Go north, east, south, west to find him. He will give you back your knapsack and run away. Go north and get the pointed rock. Use this with a stick and the feather to make the arrows. Use these with your bow. I have no clue what to do next! Please e-mail me if you can help or if I missed anything! -------- 8.
