Is it for me? -Fishing is a great source of money, well in BOF it is anyway. Also, it's -easy to perform, so it should be no trouble to you. Money, I hear money... -Yeah, you can trade fish at some shops. OK, you've got me hooked(no pun intended, coz that would not be funny). How do I start fishing then? -You'll need a rod, some bait, and somewhere to fish. Where can I get those? -You can buy a wooden rod and some bait in Sarai Town What about a fishing location? -You'll have to find them yourself, or check below in my guide. I'm there, teach me! -Read the next section ------- CASTING ------- Luke Skywalker.................Mark Hamill Han Solo.....................Harrison Ford Ben Kenobi...................Alec Guinness R2D2....................................Me No, seriously, this section tells you how to cast your fishing line. First, choose the direction you want to cast in(with the D-Pad) Next, press X When you get the power to where you want it, press X again, and you're done. ---- LURE ---- When your line is in the water, you can move around your lure. X reels in your lure Left moves the Lure left Right, Right Down, Up Up, Down You see a Tech 0, sign, right? That's how attractive your lure is to fish, the higher the better. You should watch the tutorial to improve your lure, because it's hard to put it on paper, i.e. here. You want around Tech 4 or 5 to catch most fish. ----- CATCH ----- When you see some tension appear on your line, quickly press X to "hook" the poor fish, what did it ever do to you? Once you've hooked it, you have to... ------------- REELING IT IN ------------- This bit is on the tough side, you can't sit back and relax here. You want the tension bar to be inside the box. Hold X to give it more strain, and release for less. Use the colour chart below as a strain indicator. Red - too much Blue - Not Enough Green - Just right That should do you.... ----------------------------- POWERSTATION GUIDE TO FISHING ----------------------------- Thanks to PowerStation Magazine for this next bit, go out and buy it, if you live in Europe! When approaching the lake, stand with your feet towards the water and press X to cast. Take note of the power bar and press X again to release the lure into the water by pressing the D-Pad, then wait for a fish to take the bait. As soon as a hit occurs, press X again to hook the fish and then keep it held to start reeling the line in. Once the fish is hooked, try to keep the line in the middle of the central area and watch for the fish trying to escape. If the fish tries to run, let go of X briefly of tap Up to let out some more line, then start to reel it back in again as quickly as possible. Each time you catch a fish you'll be awarded with points, increasing your fishing skill level. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= FISHING SPOTS =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Spot: River One Location: East of the canyon east of Sarai Fish: Jellyfish, Sweetfish, Trout, Rainbow Trout Spot: Lake One Location: Between Synesta and the wharf Fish: Jellyfish, Pirahna, Bas, Blue Gill, Martian Squad Spot: Ocean One Location: Between Shyde and Ludia Fish: Man-o'-war, Flying Fish, Blowfish, Sea Breem Spot: River Two Location: To the north of Kaq Woods Fish: Jellyfish, Browntail, Trout, RainbowTrout, Salmon Spot: Lake Two Location: South of Lyp Village Fish: Pirahna, Bass, Blue Gill, Black Bass, Martian Squid, Dorado Spot: Ocean Two Location: In the north-east part of the map Fish: Man-o'-War, Sea Bass, Flatfish, Octopus, Bonito, Spearfish, Whale Spot: River Three Location: South-west of the Tomb Fish: Sweetfish, Browntail, Trout, RainbowTrout, Bullcat, Salmon, Sturgeon Spot: Lake Three Location: North of Chiqua Fish: Jellyfish, Black Bass, Angelfish, Martian Squid, Bullcat, Dorado, Barandy Spot: Ocean Three Location: Between the Highway and Mountain Path Fish: Flying Fish, Sea Bass, Flatfish, Octopus, Bonito Spot: Chamba Location: South-east of Chamba Fish: Jellyfish, Bullcat, Acheron Spot: Saldine Location: North-east of the Flats Fish: Blowfish, Moorfish, Sea Bream, Black Porgy -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= FISH LIST =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- #1: Jellyfish Item Usage: Restores 50 HP to one party member.
