Digimon World 3 Guilmon FAQ version 1: Author: random(AKA TheConfoozidOne) Email: RandomChaos13@aol.com Created: 7/24/02 Updated:3/13/03 <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Index: 1-FAQ 2-Updates/Revision History 3-Copyright Info 4-Guilmon Info 4.1-Natural Digivolves 4.2-Digivolve Chart 4.3-Equipment For Guilmon 4.4-Strategies and Misc Info 5-Credits <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> 1-FAQ: Q: What advantages do I get by using Guilmon instead of another Digimon? A: Primarily you can get Growlmon, WarGrowlmon, and Gallantmon easier. Guilmon also has good accuracy, evasion, and strength. Q: What kinds of equipment can Guilmon use? A: Just about anything that Agumon or Veemon can use with the exception of auction items. Guilmon uses mainly different kinds of Fangs as weapons, along with certain swords, shields, and horns. Q: What Digivolves can Guilmon learn? A: All the same ones as the other partner Digimon. The difference is in the requirements for unlocking the Digivolve, all of Guilmon's are listed in section 4.2. Q:What can Guilmon Blast Digivolve into? A: It depends on the experience level. Below level 5 you get Growlmon, 5-19 WarGrowlmon, 20-39 Gallantmon. At level 40 or higher the form your Digimon blasts to will vary greatly. Q:What determines what your Digimon blasts into above level 40? A:I have no idea. Try asking on the board, someone might know there. Q: Can I make Guilmon become GallantmonCrimsonMode or Megidramon? A: They're not even in the game, so no. Q:I didn't choose the Maniac Pack, but I still want Guilmon in my party. How do I get him? A: Talk to the DRI Agent in Seiryu City when the Digimon you have with you are at a combined experience level of 30-45. Then get the DDNA from WarGrowlmon by defeating him and return to the DRI Agent. Guilmon will now be stored in the Digimon Lab(or talk to a Piximon) until you put him in your party. Q: Where's WarGrowlmon at? A: I'm not disclosing that for two reasons. One is that other FAQs have it, but the main reason is it's in the end more satisfying to do it the hard way and search. Q: Why isn't there any info on Guilmon that doesn't have to do with Digimon World 3? A: This is a FAQ for DW3, which just happens to be about Guilmon. This isn't a FAQ for anything else. Q: Will you be making FAQs for the other seven partners? A: No. I have no interest in it. Q:What levels are techniques learned at? A:It varies for each form, but they're all the same no matter which partner Digimon they are on. I didn't keep track of the levels, and I don't have the time to find out... Q:Physical? Magic? What's the difference? A:Physical means the majority of the damage is determined by your Digimon's strength, while magic damage is determined primarily by spirit. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> 2-Updates/Revisions History 7/22/02-Version 0 created. 8/04/02-Version 0.5 finished. Small change in format in some places, added additional information that I’d forgotten about. 02/06/03-Version 1 created. Major update on items. Modified slightly because of changes in GameFAQs' submission guidelines. In all likelihood this is the final update, I'm pretty much through with Digimon World 3. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> 3-Copyright Info: Digimon, Guilmon, Digimon World 3, and all related entities are copyright Bandai, Toei, Saban, Fox, and Disney. Guilmon specializes in accuracy and evasion. Weaknesses: Low spirit, vulnerable to thunder-based attacks, slow to gain levels. Technique: Pyrosphere MP:30 Type: Magic Element: Fire >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 4.1-Guilmon's Natural Digivolves Growlmon: Game's Description: "Good at support techniques." Strengths: Learns stat-increasing techs first, which can be useful in prolonged battles. Weaknesses: Only learns two true offensive techs. Techs: Double Power, Double Guard, Picking Claw, Counter Alert, Plasma Blade. Tech Info: Double Power: "Increase your attack power." It does exactly that, but it takes 42 MP in order to do so. Please do note it's only temporary and ends after a few turns or at the end of the battle(whichever comes first). Double Guard: "Increase your defense power." Temporarily increase your defense. Picking Claw: "Attack and steal items." It does that on occasion, but most of the time it fails even if your Digimon is obscenely powerful. It takes 18 MP and is 30% WEAKER than using the "Fight" command. Counter Alert: "Counterattack during pose." Typically this does the exact same damage as the opponent's physical attack did to you, but you can do more by equipping _______ Powers(i.e.; Thunder Power 2). Uses 48 MP and equipping Counter Crest works just as good if not better. Plasma Blade: "Slash with electrified blade." A physical thunder attack for 40 MP with good damage. WarGrowlmon: Game's Description: "Can learn support techniques." Strengths: Learns a better version of nearly all of Growlmon's techs. Weaknesses: Still has a slight lack of offensive techniques. Techs: Picking Claw, Counter Alert, Mega Protection, Mega Strength, Speed Up, Atomic Blaster. Tech Info: Mega Protection: "Increase allies' defense powers." The description is dead-on. All three of your Digimon in your party get their defense increased. It takes 84 MP, so it's a lot better than switching and wasting MP to increase everybody's defense. Mega Strength: "Increase allies' attack powers." It's the same thing as Mega protection, only it affects strength instead. Speed Up: "Increase your speed." The name says it all. Takes 48 MP upon use. Atomic Blaster: "Burns the enemy with fire laser." A decent magic fire attack. Uses 90 MP. Gallantmon: Game's Description: "Knight with speed and wisdom." Strengths: The ultimate countering machine. If a physical attack hits this dude, he can counter it with ridiculously increased amounts of damage. Also is good for support if you use more than one Digimon in battle. Weaknesses: Finisher is a counter instead of a true attack, so it's not that good against Galacticmon's final form or anything else that specializes in magic attacks. Techs: Speed Up, Counter Strike, Snapping Claw, Mega Boost, Final Purification. Tech Info: Counter Strike: "Strong counterattack during pose." Almost completely guaranteed to do more damage to the enemy than they did to you. Uses 96 MP. Snapping Claw: "Attack and quickly steal items." One of my favorite techs, this has a higher success rate than Picking Claw and does the same damage as using the Fight command. Uses 54 MP. Mega Boost: "Increase allies' speed." Just like Mega Protection only it affects speed instead. Final Purification: "Beam counterattack from shield." This is the ultimate weapon against Digimon with high strength and defense. It does around 50% more damage to the enemy than they did to you, and is quite accurate. Despite the fact that it uses 140 MP, it's worth it if your enemy is doing heavy damage to you. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 4.2-Guilmon's Digivolve Chart NOTES: Types are how I’ve classified them according to their place on the Digivolve Chart, which also gives a good idea of how powerful it is. The later in the alphabet the type is, the more powerful the Digivolves are. The levels aren’t given outside card battles, so for all anyone knows Galacticmon could be an In-Training! Any time a stat other than experience or skill levels is needed, it is on Guilmon(or any other Rookie) rather than the Digivolved form. For example, if you want to get SkullGreymon you need Greymon at skill level 50 and Guilmon’s Dark Tolerance needs to be 160 without equipment. You can have things equipped still, but it’s the base stats without equipment that unlocks a new Digivolve. Accessories have been omitted from this equipment list because they are all capable being equipped to all partners and are covered in someone else's FAQ already. Stat effects are listed to the right of the item name and in-battle effects on attacks are listed below the sell price. Equip items such as Matrix Helmet and Dance Wing that aid in evasion. Dirty Little Thief!: Guilmon's natural Digivolves learn moves that can steal items from enemies, including tamers! If you know what item a certain Digimon has and want it, don't be afraid to let it live long enough to hurt you so that you can steal it's item. However, do note that if you don't steal it on the first try it usually won't work on successive tries. And it’s rare for enemies to drop items, but defeat them anyways for a chance at it. I mean, MetalEtemon drops a Max Charge and you can’t buy those anywhere! Evil Little Bugger: Guilmon has good Wind Tolerance, so he has an advantage against bird-like or holy enemies. However, Galacticmon’s wind attack is so powerful tolerance really doesn’t make a difference. Epic Battle: Unlike most of the other partners, Guilmon is powerful enough to fight without using techniques once you level him up decently. This makes Guilmon especially useful in long, drawn-out battles. Iron Fist: Don't be afraid to equip heavy duty armors that will slow him down, Guilmon needs the protection of more expensive armors. The Demon Lord Awakens: One of the coolest things about Guilmon is that for him it's a bit easier to unlock Beelzemon, which has the most powerful finishing move in the game. Beelzemon is definitely worth the time to unlock. Do ALL: Basically anything another partner can do, Guilmon can(and often times better too). However, his Spirit is low so don't depend on magic techniques when using him. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> 5-Credits I credit GameFAQs and Neoseeker for providing good environments for gamers everywhere to read and post FAQs, Versus Books' strategy guide for giving a very handy list of almost all the items as well as the walkthrough, and Bandai&etc for creating Digimon. All research for version 0 of this FAQ was done on my own, and that includes basically anything not found in another FAQ or the strategy guide. Special thanks to LeeTerriemon, Pscott90, and GildedBlade0 for spotting errors and notifying me of them. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
