VANDAL HEARTS 2 FAQS            (Location of maps and stuff)         Version 3.7 , update June 18,2000                           by CHI            E-MAIL: rpgdreamers@home.com Website: Rpg Dreamers at: http://www.rpgdreamers.com or http://www.rpgdreamer.com First off, this is my first ever written faqs of any game so it might not be good when compare to other faqs out there. The reason why I decided to write this faqs is because for some strange reason no one has really written a faqs for it in terms of where the hidden items are located. This is not a walkthrough but a faqs that will give you the location as to where you can find all the important hidden stuff. In later version, if there is a later version I might do a more complete faqs as to where to find all the hidden items in each battle map. Contents: 0. What's new in version 2. 0.5 What's new in version 3. 0.8 What's new in version 3.5. 0.9 What's new in version 3.6. 0.95 Final Update. 1. How to read this faqs. 1.5 Message to readers. 2. Common Questions. 3. Tips and Tricks. 4. Location of Battlemaps 0-14. 5. Location of the 7 Prism. 6. Location of maps A-C. 7. Location of special armours. 8. Weapons & Accessories list. 9. Locations of all the items. 10. Multiple Endings. 11. Extra Scenes. 12. Questions from me. 13. Final comment from me. 14. Thanks to. 15. Copyright statement. 0. What's new in version 2. I added what items can be found in each of extra battle maps plus items to be found in all the battle maps of each chapter section. I added some more commmon questions. Revised the multiple ending and thanks sections. Found the flyer special armour. Added section 1.5, added a Tips & ticks section as well as a weapons list. Added an extra scene section. This faqs will give you what you need to get 100% in the game. 0.5 What's new in Version 3. Added a couple of items I missed out on in section 9. Updated common question and tip section a little bit. Revise the multiple ending section. Updated the thank section and extra scene section. Updated section 12 & 8. 0.8 What's new in Version 3.5. Updated both sections 2 & 8. Corrected some stuff. 0.9 What's new in version 3.6. Put in a new e-mail addy and added a few things to the common questions section. 0.95 Final Update. Final Update. This will be the final update for this faqs. Added a couple of things, most importantly the million dollar question as to how to get Darius to show up. 1. How to read this faqs. This faqs is very easy to read. V is for vertical and H is for horizontal. So when I write V6, H7, I mean vertical 6 and horizontal 7. When I list the location of items and maps, they are not in the order of which you will find in the game. Just keep that in mind. Other than that, enjoy this faqs. 1.5 Message to readers: I want to make this very clear. I made this faqs for people who had already beaten the game and was wondering what weapons/items they missed out on or whether or not they could get a better ending. This faqs is not intended for first time players which is why there are no story spoilers warning in this faqs. First time players, read this faqs at your own risk. Questions just e-mail me. (Version 3) As you can see this is version 3 of the faqs. As far as version 3 goes, it's probably going to be the final version for quite some time. I'm not saying it's the final, final version but right now I can't really think of anything more important to add to the faqs. I've corrected some of the cordinates and added a little bit of this, here and there, but nothing much more. Vandal Hearts 2 is my first and probably my last faqs. I started this faqs cause there really wasn't any faqs out there at the time that tell you where you can find some of the hidden items and plus it's a great way for me to get intouch with other gamers for more info. Vandal Hearts 2 is pretty much a very straight forward game that you really don't need a walkthrough for, nor a strategy guide. Oh, you might have a little trouble with 2 or 3 maps but overrall it's not too hard of a game. The faqs I have provided you with should give you all the information on hidden weapons and items locations throughout the game. If you need help with the game, have a question, have a comment on the faqs, or have something to add to the faqs then feel free to e-mail me directly. I'll try and get back to you in under 10 hours. And don't worry about starting your e-mails with "I'm sorry to bother you with a stupid question." First, there's no such thing as a stupid question and if I didn't want you to bother me than I wouldn't ask you to e-mail me for any questions, now would I. Shameless plug here. Common Questions: Here are some common questions you might ask yourself. Q: How do I open treasure chest? A: You can open treasure chest with the unlock ability from the Bowie weapon. Q: How do I search for items on the ground? A: You need the searchmark ability from the Antennae weapon.  Q: What kind of markings on the ground should I look for when looking for hidden items? A: Look for unusual small markings/designs or patches on the ground. Q: How do I reach treasure chests that are high up in the ground? A: You need either the blockmake or double blockmake ability. You can get the blockmake from the pickaxe weapon and the double blockmake from the goldbat weapon. Q: How do I get a treasure chest surrounded by crates? A: You need the blockbreak ability from the maracas. Q: In the West Paua Sea map there are a couple of chests very high. I can't make blocks to reach it. A: You need to get the terraformer ability first. The terraformer ability let you change the terrain of the land to regular terrain including water. You can get it from a shield located in a chest in West Paua Sea. Q: How do I work the shockline and deltashock magic properly? A: For the shockline you need 2 people. One with the shockline magic and the other with either linerune or deltite equip. Now place the two fighters in a parallel line with one another. The shockline magic will be cast and will hit anything standing between the two fighters. For the deltashock, you need 3 people. One with the deltashock magic, one equip with the linerune, and the last person equip with the deltite. The deltashock magic will be cast and will hit anything in a triangle form. So try and position the 3 fighters in a triangle form with the enemies inside this triangle form. Q: What are the best weapons in the game? A: The best weapons are Moontip (att 150), Vandal Hearts (att 135), Golden (att 124), and the Evil doll (att 115). The Evil doll is the only one you can get right at the beginning of Chapter 3. The others your going to have to wait till late in Chapter 4. Q: What is the best weapon and armour combo? A: THe best combo is the coffin and the L-Mach armour. The coffin can hit and reach anything on the battlemap but has 0 movement. The L-Mach has 30 movements but only 1 hp. This will allow the fighter to move pretty much anywhere on the battle map while staying out of harms way. Very good at killing mages and long range archers. Q; How do I change the Zero Map into the Mirror Room? A: You need to find and equip the 0-Mirror. You can find the 0-Mirror at (V2, H14) inside Zero Map. Q: What does the seed do? A: The seed changes the East Railroad into a ground of flowers. This will allow you to find and get the Harisen in East Railroad. Q: What does the plug do? A: The plug unplug the water at Kollaba Swamp which will allow you to get a prism. Q: How does the percentage work in finding weapons? A: As far as I can tell. Each time you find a weapon, it counts as 0.5%. But if the weapon require two hands to carry, it is 1%. Q: What time is a good time to enter Fortuna to look for the E-Prism? A: Try going at midnight. Q: I got the Fortuna map after beating Killea Bog but I can't seem to get a nightime Fortuna. A: Try going to Fortuna after beating the Polata Ruins. The battle at Polata takes place at nights so everythings else will be in daytime until then. Of course I could just be blowing smoke up my butt on this. Q: I still can't get a night time Fortuna map. A: DO NOT EQUIP THE 0-Mirror. Q: What does the 3 letters tell you? A: The 3 letters give you the location of Map-0. Q: What does the Ikarsor do? A: As far as I know, it only changes the feather map cursor into an arrow cursor. Q: Can I save Adele? A: Yes. See Multiple Ending section down below. Q: What do I get for finding 100% of the weapons? A: You get a code in the end of the game. You have to wait for a few minutes before the code shows up though. Q: How do I use the game code? A: See multiple ending section. Q: Help me. I can't get Darius to show up at Kiskana Tavern late in chapter 4. A: You have to visit Kiskana Tavern at nighttime. Apparently Darius only shows up late at night or in the evening. Q: What does the advance mode do?? A: As far as I can tell, you get a harder version of the game. I haven't actually played through the advance mode yet or planned to so I don't really know for sure. I did get an e-mail stating that you get a hidden end game boss in the advance mode and have to fight a Vandalier in Lagusta Ruins to retrieve the Vandal Heart sword as oppose to just having to get the sword at Lagusta Ruins. This is all unconfirm by me so take it for what it's worth. 3. Tips and Tricks: If you have any tips or ticks that you want to pass on, let me know. Trick 1: You can make a prison of blocks and use the Switch technique to fill the prison with enemy characters. You can search the map in peace and steal the enemys mp to recharge your mages. (Just dont fill the prison with enemy mages, mages with attack spells anyhow). Trick 2: For some strange reason even though you cant change a Guest's equipment. You can use the Weapon Trade skill on them. Design Error??? You can use this trick to get NPC weapons/shields or to give them better weapons. (IF only this worked on the enemy.) Trick 3: If you equip multiple Brawlers Skills (Special Weapon Urn) on the same weapon they are cumlitive. Put four on a good special weapon and get ready for a serious can of woop-ass. Trick 4: Same as trick 3, but use the Shield Skill Recovery Mark. Since it is cumilutive five on one shield will heal your character 75 hit points per round. That's some serious healing for free. Thanks to Kenna for the above tricks. Tip for Domigo Ruins boss fights. If you're having trouble with the 3 bosses due to the knight with the resurrection spell. Use the switcher magic on the knight and switch places with him. Then have everybody gang up and ill the knight immediately. Tip: If you equip the 0-Mirror you can rotate the world map clock by using the L1 and R1 button without moving around on the world map. (Thanks to pablo soto.) Tip: If you can guess where the enemy will move to next. Cast double block on that square and the enemy will be stuck up there. You can then explore the area without any trouble from the enemy. This will only work on non flyers. (Thanks to Urdthe4@aol.com) 4. Location of Battlemaps 0-14: Map 0 (Zero): located at (V21, H36) in Chapter 3 at East Paua Sea. Items found at Gemini: Vardish and Lunarod are inside chests. Map 3 (Triangle): In chapter 2, head for Luxar Village. Go to the shopkeeper and select the buy option. Now scoll down the buy selection till you see ????. Keep pressing the enter button on ???? and eventually the shopkeeper will sell you the Triangle map. This will take place after Kumenu Canyon. Make sure you talk to all the people in the tavern first before going to the shop. Items found at Triangle: L-Prism (V3, H3), Pipe (V10, H8), and Goblin in chest. Talk to him many times to eventually activate Octopus battle map. (Special note: you must visit Kiskana Tavern at night to get Darius to show up.) This will happen after clearing Slate Convent stage. DO NOT EQUIP THE Ikarsor cause Darius will not show up if you do. Items found at Octopus: Ogre Rod (V5, H3) and Goblin (V24, H3). Map 11 (Jackblade): located at (V13, H20) at the Mining Prison in chapter 1. Items found in Jackblade: Goblin and Pole-Ax are both inside chests. Map 14 (Fortissa): located at (V6, H14) at Lugusta Ruins in chapter 4. Items found in Fortissa: Spatula and Letter 1 are both inside chests, S-Metal at (V11, H21). 5. Location of the 7 Prisms: Note: when you first discover a prism. it's in the form of a clay, clod, clump, ect. Until you check the description of these things, only then will they automatically turn into a prism. Here are the location of the 7 prisms in no particular order except for the M-Prism. The M-Prism can only be retrieved after the Gardeau Castle stage where you have located the last extra battle map (Goldfinch) in Chapter 4. H-Prism: is located at (V15, H19) on Zero battle map. L-Prism is located at (V3, H3) on Triangle battle map. E-Prism is located at (V2, H37) on Fortuna battle map. One thing about this prism location. You can only find the prism at night. So check the clock on the uppper right hand side of the world map to make sure that when you enter Fortuna, it's at night. DO NOT EQUIP THE 0-Mirror when trying to get a night time Fortuna. C-Prism is located at (V12, H13) on Daboll Mt. A-Prism is located at (V9, H9) on Rainbow 4. Special note on Rainbow. Inorder for you to get to Rainbow 4 you must first find Plan1 in Rainbow 1. Once this is done, go back inside Rainbow to turn it into Rainbow 2 then find Plan 2. Then go into Rainbow 2 and turn it into Rainbow 3 with Plan 2. Find Plan 3 in Rainbow 3 then go back inside Rainbow with Plan 3 to turn it into Rainbow 4. N-Prism is located inside a treasure chest at Kallaba Swamp. Inorder to make the treasure chest to appear in Kallaba Swamp, you must have the plug. The plug can be found at (V3, H7) in Bazo Forest map at the beginning of Chapter 4. M-Prism is the final prism. Once you found all the extra battle maps from 0-14, there will be a special circle design that will appear in Rosace Hills. Go to Rosace Hills. The M-Prism is located at (V13, H14). Once you have retrieved all 7 prism, head toward Lugusta Ruins. You should now have a new story scene and gotten the special Vandal Hearts sword. The best sword in the game. For a special treat, if you can get all 7 prism before facing Yuri at Natra Palace. You can avoid having to fight him thus not having to kill Yuri. 6. Location of maps A - C: Map A to C tells you where you can find items that have great value to sell. Map A is located at (V9, H6) in Killea Bog at chapter 2. Map A gives you the location of the bullion in Bryon Manor. Read it for the cordinates. Map B is located at (V17, H0) in Kallaba swamp after it is unplugged. Map B tells you the location of the Ingot in Erawaga Falls. Read it for the cordinates. Map C is located at (V12, H15) in Slate Convent. Map C tells you the location of the R-Metal in Kingrand. Read it for the cordinates. 7. Location of special armours: During the game you can find special armours for each of the armour classes that are not available to buy at the store. Gravi-X: this is the strongest heavy duty armour. It gives you an incredible amount of hp but very little movement. Equip a cast with boots to help boost up your movement. Located at (V14, H14) in Commandia map. L-Mach: this armour is made solely for use with the coffin weapon. While the armour only gives you 1 hp, it gives you 30 in movement. Equip this with the coffin weapon and you can hit anyone from anywhere in the map with great movement. Located at (V2, H11) in Museus map. Magerobe A: this armour gives you an incredible amount mp but very low in hp. I don't find it very usefull at all. Located at (V31, H20) in Goldfinch. A-Magic: this is the best overrall armour in the game. It gives you a mix of incredible hp and mp. The only bad thing is that it is very weak against all kind of magic. Located at (V16, H20) in Kingrand. I seem to have missed a special armour in the flyer class. Does anyone know where it's located or if there is a special armour in the flyer class? I've now located the special flyer armour. S-metal can be found at (V11, H21) in Fortissa map. This is clearly the best flyer armours with great mps. Special thanks to Masa Mune for this tip. 8. Vandal Hearts 2, unlike the first one has multiple endings. There are now believed to be 4 different endings base on some of the e-mails I've recieved. What endings you get is base on who lives or dies. Whether or not Clive lives in the game depends on your choice when Clive ask Joshua if he would protect and look after Rosaly if anything were to happen to him. If you pick yes, you would look after Rosaly then Clive will die. If you tell Clive to protect Rosaly himself then Clive will live. You can avoid killing Yuri if you found all 7 prism and have the vandal hearts sword before facing him at Natra Palace. Inorder to save Adele you must have both Yuri and Clive alive this will definetly get you the best ending. So far I don't really know what the effect of the answers to the multiple questions has in the game. I believe the effect is very little as most of the outcome depends on the survival of Joshua friends. (revised for version 3) Okay, while there might be 4 main endings base on who lives or dies. These endings can vary slightly due to the answers to the questions you ask. So there might be 8 different endings all together. 2 for each main one. I 'm just guessing here as I've only played this game 3 times. Below is a brief description of some of the endings I've gotten and sent in by others. No, I'm not going to play this game anymore. Ending A (1): Clive and Yuri both dies. Joshua ends up taking over the Natra Kingdom as king. He goes on to turn into a dictator/tyrant, and changes Natra to an Empire with him as the emperor. Under his rule, the Natra forces take over the entire continent, and an empire is formed that lasts over 300 years. He dies at the age of 83 from an assassination. You get this by picking to become king and making excuses and agree to protect Rosaly. I'm guessing here as it was submitted Dameon. Thanks to Dameon Truman. Ending A (2): Clive and Yuri both dies. Adele jumps off the castle killing herself. The ending is the same as ending B. The only differences in choices is that you choose to make a girl happy instead of to become a king. (I think). Thanks to Curt Crane. Ending B: Clive lives but Yuri dies. In the end, you will see Joshua coming back to visit Adele's grave. Here you will meet up with the married couple of Rosaly and Clive. After some conversation, Joshua rides of to the sunset. Ending C: Clive dies but Yuri lives. In the end you will see Joshua standing in a new Polata and a boy calls him mayor. The boy tells him that his wife Rosaly will be giving birth any moment now. The boy then ask about Joshua past. Ending D: Clive, Yuri, and Adele all live. This is to be the best ending. I'm not telling you. You have to find that out for yourself. If you want to get the best ending and are not sure what answers to choose then you can do this. 1: at the beginning when Nicola asks you what your goal is, say you want to make a certain girl happy 2: remember this when you kill Kossimo step 3: tell her the truth when you meet her in the cave step 4: save clive by telling him he has to live and take care of Rosaly (if you say otherwise he will die) 5: get the Vandal Hearts before you fight Yuri. Thanks to Ash Lambert for these steps. Alright I'll tell you just so you're not asking yourself if you really did get the best ending or not. Adele remains the Queen of United Natra and Joshua remains by her side as Premier. Cliffhanger: In the cliffhanger a Vandalier (Ash?) shows up and ask Joshua to lend a hand to fight in a cause at the Relm of the Infidels. Something to do with Vandal Hearts 3 perhaps. If anyone knows more about this please let me know. Note about the cliffhanger, it appears you can only get it if you have the Vandal Hearts sword plus have 100% completion. Game end code is Up, up , down, down, left, right, left, right, L1, and R1. Here's how to use the game end code. Take controller 1 and put it in the second controller port. At the PRESS START screen, punch in the code with the controller in the second port. If you done it correctly you should get an ADVANCE MODE of the game. Thanks to Matt Shindelus for this. Another note on the ending is that after the ending is completed and you get the final screen (where it say Fin or End) at the bottom right hand corner of the screen there are 4 white dots with one of them illuminated. I believe that the 4 dots correspond to the 4 main endings that you can get, with the last dot being the perfect endng and getting worse as the dots go right to left. The illuminated dot corresponds to the ending which you have just achieved. From left to right the dots correspond to: 1. Everyone dies, Hero becomes tyrant 2. Clive dies, Adele dies, Yuri lives, Hero marries Rosaly 3. Yuri may live or die, Clive lives and marries Rosaly, Adele dies, Hero rides off into sunset 4. Everyone lives and has a party Thanks to MadDog (maddog@planetmaddog.com) 11. Extra Scenes: I don't know if anyone notice but there are a few extra story scene. 1. After you can go back and forth in Yuggor, you can sometimes get an extra story scene between Pike and Marie. 2. After Natra Palace where Yuri dies but Clive lives, go back to the Hideout immediately to get an extra story scene. Thanks to Chen Tang for #2. 3. After Clive dies but Yuri lives. Go back to the hideout to get an extra scene. Note: same scene as #2. 4. In chapter 3, after Pratau received a message from a C. Natra Soldier at Randahl Plain go to Fort Gusta and an extra scene between Agresss and Maria will take place...Maria talks about looking for a man and settling down. This like Yuggor extra scene occurs randomly. Thanks to Jesus Zhu for #4. If anyone knows if there's anymore extra story scenes, please let me know. 12. Questions from me: It seem dumb answering some of my own question in version 2 but here are some of the responses that I've gotten. 1. Does anyone know all the different types of ending you can get? There appears to be 4 different endings. See the above section on multiple endings. If anyone know about any other ending let me know please. 2. Does anyone know what the guy in Naska City mean when he says that you can face a stronger version of yourself in the Mirror Room? I've gotten quite alot of e-mails on this subject and they all say the same thing. There seem to be a difference to the hp stats between your guys and the computers. This is random and effect certain members of the partys but not all. If you know anything more let me know? 3. Does anyone know what the woman in Naska city mean when she ask you if you found the wastrel yet? I must've fell asleep cause everyone been telling me that she was referring to Danial during your search for him. Thanks to Fenrir212 and others on this issue. 13.
