The Legal Crap ***************************************************************************** I. Introduction ***************************************************************************** Hello! My name is Chris, and I have decided to do a walkthrough on this pretty cool game called Emerald Dragon. Why? For the money, of course!!! I borrowed a Japanese dictionary from the library to help me translate things, because I know absolutely no Japanese. Well, I do now. Of course, the names of monsters and characters and items aren't accurate at all. I'm sorry, but I tried as much as I could do. Some names are accurate, though. Over a whopping 90% of the games' Katakana characters were impossible for me to translate. I have spent countless hours on translating the story, and I think I understand the main plot. Atorushaso must collect the five special gems. These gems allow him to transform into different monsters. Alone the way he'll meet many friends to help him on his journey. I hope you enjoy this game! It has a pretty cool battle system, but unfortunately, you can only control one character (Ato). Good luck! ***************************************************************************** II. Gameplay Basics ***************************************************************************** Since this game is in all Japanese, it's important that you read this section. It will tell you what to do in battles, the menu, and in towns. Without this, it will be a hard way through the game for you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A. However, unless you're a fluent speaker of Japanese, you won't understand what these guys are saying! Talk to people by literally running into them. Choices: Sometimes you have a choice on what to say to people. Select the choice with "A", cancel with "B", and highlight different choices with Up and Down. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- B. To attack an enemy, you walk straight into them. Atorushaso will slash them with whatever weapon he has equipped, and your allies will have their turn, too. But you can only control Atorushaso. Battle Menu Screen: Use Item Ally's Target Run Away Use Special Item Do Nothing Battle Animations To get into the Battle Menu Screen, press X while in battle. A menu will pop up, but it's all in Japanese. Here's what they do in English: Use Item: Select this to use an item, such as a Potion. You can use as many items per round as you want. Ally's Target: You can try to make an ally attack a specific enemy, though they won't always listen. Run Away: Your characters make an attempt to dash off. However, I find that this fails more often than it works. You gain no EXP or G for the battle. Use Special Item: Here, you can use a special item, if it can be used. The first special item you can use is the Dragon Scale, which lets Atorushaso transform into a dragon in exchange for a lot of HP. Defend: Atorushaso defends. Wow, this was unexpected, huh? It reduces damage by a little bit. Battle Animations: Select this to change the battle animations on or off. Selecting off makes battles go a lot faster, but much less exciting. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- C. Don't get overwhelmed by what you see, though; I'll tell you what each option does. You need to know if you want to survive. Item: Press A while highlighting Item and a new menu will come up: -------------- | Normal Item | | Special Item | -------------- Selecting "Normal Items" gives you a list of any items you have, and also gives you the ability to use any of them: --------- | Use | | Discard | --------- Equipment, such as swords and helmets, are counted as normal items. By selecting these, you can see the stats it gives to a character. Some items won't do anything if you try to use them. You can also get rid of normal items by selecting the second option when you choose an item. Selecting "Special Item" brings you to a screen with all of your special items, and if you select one, it gives you a description. Equip: Allows you to equip a character with a weapon and some armor. Very important if you want to beat this game. When you select this, a menu pops up. The first option allows you to un-equip a character. Your weapons and armor are listed after this. To equip a character, select an item, and then a character. Items which are better for a character shows an "up" arrow underneath the character. Items that are worse than what the character already has on shows a "down" arrow. Map: Shows you the map of the world. Option: By selecting this, a menu will appear: ----------------- | Message Speed | | ??? | | Character Order | | Tactics | | Menu Background | | ??? | ----------------- Message Speed allows you to adjust the rate which words are spoken. The top option is fastest, and the bottom option is slowest. Character Order allows you to change the order which characters are displayed in the menu. Tactics allows you to change where the characters appear in combat. Menu Background allows you to change the menu background to three different things. For the "???"s, I will update what they are in a later version. They aren't really important, anyway. Data: By selecting this, a menu will pop up: ------ | SAVE | | LOAD | ------ Pretty self-explanatory, I hope. There are three different save files. ***************************************************************************** IV. Characters ***************************************************************************** I have translated these characters' names from Katakana symbols to Japanese words... But I have no clue what the names mean in English. Also, don't e-mail me with letters saying "You SUCK at Japanese!", since I used a Japanese- English dictionary to figure this out! ATORUSHASO (Swordsman/Dragon) The hero of the game. He's a blue dragon that can turn into a human with red hair. As a human, he strongly resembles Chrono (Crono) from Chrono Trigger. He wields a sword as a human, but nothing as a dragon. He's the only character you can control in battle. He's really fast, does a lot of damage, has a lot of HP, and is above average in nearly every other area. He can turn into a dragon, or many more types of monsters, if you have the right scale. Joins: Beginning of the game Leaves: End of the game Beginning Stats (Dragon) Level 1 HP: 100 STR: 80 DEF: 80 INT: 80 AGL: 80 POINT: 80 Beginning Stats (Swordsman) Level 1 HP: 100 STR: 40 DEF: 40 INT: 2 AGL: 5 POINT: 11 Starting Equipment (Dragon) Weapon: None Armor: None Shield: None Helmet: None Starting Equipment (Human) Weapon: Short Sword Armor: Wooden Armor Shield: Leather Helmet Helmet: None BARUSOMUGA (Swordsman) The first character that will join Atorushaso. You see him in the bar in the first town, and he'll join you if you give him the letter the mayor gave you. He reminds me of Gafgarion from Final Fantasy Tactics... Kind of. In battles, he has brown hair, but has reddish hair in the menu. He appears to be some sort of mercenary that likes to drink. Unfortunately, you can't control him in battle, and he can't gain any levels. A pretty cool character, though he doesn't stay for long. He likes swords. He does almost the same damage as Ato does, but unfortunately, he leaves in the second town. He's average in all areas. Joins: First town Leaves: Second town, after fighting boss Starting Stats Level 6 HP: 500 STR: 74 DEF: 56 INT: 9 AGL: 18 POINT: 13 Starting Equipment Weapon: Short Sword Armor: Wooden Armor Shield: None Helmet: None TARURISO (Sorceress) Think of Lucia from Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, mixed with Mint from Tales of Phantasia, and then stick green hair on her. You meet her in the ruins above the first town, where she's stuck in a jail cell. Atorushaso frees her, and she joins you. She can cast magic, and some pretty good magic, too. She is the first character other than Ato who can gain levels. You'll need her for many battles, as she is a useful healer. She's pretty fast, but lacks in the HP department. She starts out with a Heal spell and a Fireball spell, and learns new spells as she grows levels. She learns Quake at around level 10, Strength Up at level 15, Slow at level 24, and many other spells. Joins: Ruins above first town Leaves: End of the game Starting Stats Level 1 HP: 80 STR: 33 DEF: 24 INT: 5 AGL: 2 POINT: 8 Starting Equipment Weapon: Short Bow Armor: Robe Shield: None Helmet: None BAGISO An old man, found in the ruins above the first town. He looks like Strago from Final Fantasy III/VI, except... Not as weird. He can cast powerful magic, but can't grow any levels. He, like Lauren, can heal, but can also cast offensive magic. He's pretty slow, doesn't have much HP, and his usefulness wears out after a while. Quake is a good spell, but he rarely casts it. Other spells he knows are Fireball and Heal, so he can be a useful healer. Joins: Ruins above first town Leaves: Entrance of Hydra Cave Starting Stats Level 10 HP: 550 STR: 70 DEF: 58 INT: 25 AGL: 16 POINT: 10 Starting Equipment Weapon: Wooden Knuckles Armor: Robe Shield: None Helmet: None HASURAMU (Swordsman) Looks much like Herr Mullen from Grandia. The prince of the second town joins you after you fight the second boss, and when Barusomuga leaves. Like Barusomuga, he can use swords. When you first get him, he does incredible damage. He has lots of HP and can deal out more damage than Ato himself! An awesome character, with decent speed and above average defense. Joins: Second town, after Barusomuga leaves Leaves: The fourth town, after beating the wizard and talking to the silver guy Joins again: Sixth town, after beating the Man Eater and reviving him from Osutorakon's Black Orb Leaves again: End of the game Starting Stats (First time) Level 17 HP: 1200 STR: 162 DEF: 176 INT: 13 AGL: 21 POINT: 16 Starting Equipment (First time) Weapon: Broad Sword Armor: Thick Armor Shield: Wooden Shield Helmet: Wooden Helmet Starting Stats (Second time) Level 53 HP: 3600 STR: 416 DEF: 760 INT: 112 AGL: 104 POINT: 18 Starting Equipment (Second time) Weapon: Super Sword Armor: Very Heavy Armor Shield: Savior's Shield Helmet: Iron Helmet FARUNA The King's daughter, who has purple hair. She's a fighter, but kind of sounds like a man... She uses her fists to cause surprising damage. She joins you with Hasuramu when Barusomuga leaves. Although you might think she's weak, just play for a while longer... You'll quickly change your mind! Not only can she fight, but she can also heal! This makes her one of the most useful fighters on your team for a while. Joins: Second town, after Barusomuga leaves Leaves: After beating Osutorakon atop the Haunted Castle. Joins again: After beating Garushia for the second time, and then going to the desert Leaves again: End of the game Starting Stats (First time) Level 15 HP: 980 STR: 133 DEF: 145 INT: 46 AGL: 46 POINT: 12 Starting Equipment (First time) Weapon: Wooden Knuckles Armor: Thick Armor Shield: None Helmet: Wooden Helmet Starting Stats (Second time) Level 80 HP: 3800 STR: 893 DEF: 1691 INT: 141 AGL: 153 POINT: 28 Starting Equipment (Second time) Weapon: Wanderer's Staff Armor: Warrior's Armor Shield: None Helmet: Gold Helmet YAMAN Some guy that lives in a village. Not much to say about him... He's a pretty good fighter, that joins you for some unknown reason. He also has a connection to Faruna... He's got plenty of HP, and is very, very, VERY fast! Unfortunately, he's not as strong as the other fighters, and that's his only drawback. You may think he doesn't stay in your party for long. That's not true, however. He comes back later. But your characters will already be a much higher level than him the second time around. Joins: The small village Leaves: After beating the Giant Octopus and returning to the small village Joins again: After Hosurou joins, while heading toward the forest for the second time Leaves again: The fifth town, after beating the guy in the colosseum Starting Stats (First time) Level 18 HP: 1340 STR: 198 DEF: 247 INT: 20 AGL: 99 POINT: 20 Starting Equipment (First time) Weapon: Long Bow Armor: Iron Armor Shield: None Helmet: Hunter's Hat Starting Stats (Second time) Level 28 HP: 2100 STR: 372 DEF: 262 INT: 53 AGL: 78 POINT: 24 Starting Equipment (Second time) Weapon: Heavy Bow Armor: Iron Armor Shield: None Helmet: Hunter's Hat HASUROU (Swordsman) A guy with white hair and silver armor. You first meet him in the fourth town, and he joins you later. Although he appears old, he certainly is a good fighter. His stats are probably higher than any of your other characters, but they'll pass him up eventually. Joins: After Yaman leaves. You'll find Hosurou in a cave to the northeast of where Hasuramu left. Leaves: At the entrance of the Haunted Castle, after Faruna leaves. Joins again: He'll be in the bar in the fifth town after getting the Light Arrow from the old man atop the mountain Leaves again: After beating Garushia the second time, getting the Black Dragon Claw Starting Stats (First time) Level 35 HP: 2500 STR: 337 DEF: 348 INT: 25 AGL: 58 POINT: 60 Starting Equipment (First time) Weapon: Brass Knuckles Armor: Heavy Armor Shield: None Helmet: Wooden Helmet Starting Stats (Second time) Level 45 HP: 3700 STR: 489 DEF: 793 INT: 67 AGL: 103 POINT: 16 Starting Equipment (Second time) Weapon: Rebel's Sword Armor: Very Heavy Armor Shield: None Helmet: Silver Helmet KARUSHIYUWARU (Swordsman) One of Hasurou's buddies, that joins you when Hosurou leaves. You've run into him many times already. He's pretty valuable, since you'll have only two other fighters left when he joins. However, you're probably already at a higher level than him when he comes into your party... Joins: After beating Osutorakon atop the Haunted Castle Leaves: In Osutorakon's Castle, right after fighting Osutorakon in his first form Starting Stats Level 41 HP: 3000 STR: 463 DEF: 696 INT: 45 AGL: 85 POINT: 13 Starting Equipment Weapon: Rebel's Knuckles Armor: Very Heavy Armor Shield: None Helmet: Iron Helmet KEOJUYANTO You meet him for the first time in the fifth town, after fighting the boss in the colosseum. After something unfortunate happens, he joins you. Keojuyanto is a good replacement for Yaman, who leaves right before Keo joins. He also looks very much like Yaman... The same headband, the same hair style, and he uses bows and arrows... Hmm... Joins: In the fifth town, after Yaman leaves Leaves: End of the game Starting Stats Level 60 HP: 2900 STR: 437 DEF: 216 INT: 100 AGL: 90 POINT: 24 Starting Equipment Weapon: Super Bow Armor: Heavy Armor Shield: None Helmet: None WARAMURU In the sixth town, you'll ask him to revive Hasuramu from the Black Orb that Osutorakon imprisoned him in. He needs to go to a mountain to get a special ingredient, and joins your party for a little bit. Walkthrough ***************************************************************************** --------A. The Dragon World-------- Party: Atorushaso (A) Level 1 After a few words from the start, you'll be controlling a blue dragon. Walk north, to see a ship that's been sunk! Talk to all three of your dragon buddies (By walking into them), and then watch as a red dragon swoops to the cliff you're standing on. He lets go of a boy he found alive on the ship, and all the dragons gather around. Talk to the boy, who seems to be scared. Suddenly, behind the cliff, the dragon elder will appear! He wants to talk to you. You automatically go to his "house". 15 years will pass. Atorushaso (Looking much older) will automatically go back to the pier, with Taruriso looking at the sunken ship. To try to cheer her up, and so she'll always remember him, Atorushaso breaks off his own horns, and gives them to the kid. The night passes, and Atorushaso goes to the dragon elder again. He gives him a green stone, and he also opens the door to a cave below. Go down there, and enter. --------B. Dragon Caverns-------- Party: Atorushaso (A) Level 3 Items: (NOTE: Names are made up) Silver Dragon Scale (Super special Item) Short Sword Leather Armor Leather Helmet 200 G Monsters: (NOTE: Names are made up) Scorpion (0 EXP, 0 G) Cobra (0 EXP, 0 G) Fireball (0 EXP, 0 G) Walk up to the hole in the door, and Atorushaso will put in the green stone thingy. The door will open, meaning you should enter. You'll most likely fight a battle in here. No worries. Just walk right into an enemy, and Ato will do hundreds of damage to them, which will almost assuredly kill them. As a dragon, he can't gain EXP or G, so fighting lots of battles here makes no sense at all. From the room after the door that opens, head straight to the right. Enter the "door" to the north. In this next room, go up as far as you can. Now go left until you get to an intersection; head up again. Go through the door above you, and you'll be in the last room of the caverns! Walk up the stairs, and then walk up to the fountain-like thing in the middle of the room. You'll get a Silver Dragon Scale (special item), and the elder will tell you to use it. When Atorushaso does, he'll turn into a human, will his level back down to 1. The elder will tell you to inspect the fountain again, and you'll get some equipment (Short Sword, Leather Armor, Leather Helmet), as well as 200 G. Then, Atorushaso will teleport to the entrance. If you re-enter the cave, the monsters will be gone. But there's nothing to do there. Talk to the elder, who will send you on a mission. Atorushaso will fly away, and you'll see various towns on the way. Finally, you'll see your destination: a little spot in the middle of nowhere. --------C. Uruwan'no Town-------- Party: Atorushaso (A) Level 1 Items: Letter (Special Item) Potion 100 G 200 G Monsters: Arrow (2 EXP, 6 G) Bluebird (5 EXP, 5 G) Cave Man (5 EXP, 10 G) Monkey (4 EXP, 6 G) Inn: 10 G Weapon Shop: Short Sword (100 G) Short Bow (120 G) Wooden Knuckles (80 G) Broad Sword (200 G) Armor Shop: Wooden Armor (100 G) Robe (50 G) Leather Shield (30 G) Item Shop: Potion (10 G) Tent (40 G) NOTE: From now on, I'm only putting the first letter of the characters' names in the "Recommended Levels" part of the beginning of every new place. For example, Atorushaso will now become simply "A". The elder will say something (I think), and will give you something. What did he give you? Your guess is as good as mine. I think it's the map, but I'm not sure. Monsters here are jokes. Most will go down with one hit. However, watch out for Bluebirds and Cave Men; they'll give you quite a beating before they go down. Go northwest, and you'll soon see a house. Enter it, to find out it's actually a town. To the upper right of the entrance is an Armor Shop and an Item Shop. A Weapon Shop is in the upper left. At the very top of town, you can find an Inn, a Bar, the Mayor's House, and an unimportant house. First, I would go to the Weapon Shop, and buy a Broad Sword for Atorushaso (The fourth item on the list). The Armor Shop has nothing new, and I wouldn't spend much money in the Item Shop. Once you're done shopping, go talk to the purple haired girl in front of the Weapon Shop. Choose the first option to receive a Potion. Now, talk to the guy standing in front of the Inn and the Bar. Choose the first option for 100 G! Talk to everyone in town, and note the man inside the bar. Once you're ready, enter the house to the left of the Inn. Talk to the old man (The mayor) inside. It doesn't matter which choice you choose, but he'll eventually make you choose the first choice. When you do so, he'll give you a Letter (To the guy in the bar), and also 200 G! What a nice guy... Go into the bar, and talk to the one guy who looks different then the others. After talking a little bit, he'll join you! His name is Barusomuga (A swordsman). Barusomuga tells you to go to the ruins above the town. Well, I don't know if he really says that, but it's where you need to go next. Before leaving, though, you should buy Barusomuga a Wooden Helmet and a Broad Sword. Also, training is REALLY recommended! Have Atorushaso grow to at LEAST level 4 before going into the ruins. Unfortunately, Barusomuga can't grow levels, and you can't control him in battles. If you're still having trouble in battles, please refer to the Game Basics section of this FAQ. Keep training! --------D. The Ruins Above Uruwan'no Town-------- Party: A Level 4, Barusomuga (G) Level 6 Items: Instrument (Special Item) Potion Leather Helmet Tent Broad Sword Monsters: Bluebird (At entrance) (5 EXP, 5 G) Zombie (4 EXP, 1 G) Ghost (4 EXP, 3 G) Skeleton (4 EXP, Spike Ball (BOSS ACCOMPLICE) (6 EXP, 5 G) Statue (BOSS) (20 EXP, 100 G) Once you've raised Atorushaso to a good level, go ahead and enter the ruins above Uruwan'no. Barusomuga will walk up, and press a hidden switch, which will reveal a stairway. Go down. Barusomuga will notice something strange in this place... Keep heading forward, and you'll see a room with a whole bunch of dead people in it! Barusomuga will inspect them, and suddenly, the people will rise and attack you! This battle consists of 6 Zombies; it isn't that hard. They do around 60 damage with each attack, but they aren't always smart enough to attack you. You can kill them in one hit with a Broad Sword equipped. After the battle, keep going up. Atorushaso will see some kind of instrument, or something, and will dash for it. As he goes towards it, the floor will fall beneath his feet, and he'll land (10 points!!!) in a jail cell of some sort. Barusomuga decided not to follow him (Wise choice). A girl who's also in the cell will walk over to Atorushaso, and will help him get up. They have a little talk (I won't spoil it for you... Not that I could anyways), and Atorushaso will open the jail door. The girl (Whose name is Taruriso) will join you. Like Ato, you can level her up. She can also use spells, but you can't control her. If any of your characters' HP gets low, then Lauren will heal them (And do a pretty good job at it, too). Watch out for the Ghosts; they have a (Blue) Fireball magic spell that can do around 60 damage to a character. Also, they have a spell which increases an ally's DEF. Take them out first; due to their low HP, this won't take long at all. From the outside of the jail cell, go east, and into the jail cell for a chest with Leather Shoes. Then, exit the room, and go up. When you reach an intersection, go north, where you'll find a Potion. Now, go down and left, where you'll run into Barusomuga. He'll give you the instrument you saw earlier, and re-join your party. From there, head left, and then up. Open the chest for a Tent. Go straight down for a Broad Sword. Now go up, right, and up. The door seems to be too hard to budge, even after Barusomuga tries to open it. Taruriso sees something evil behind the door... Atorushaso and Barusomuga get surprised when she tells them what it is! Of course, I'm not going to spoil the game for you... But they can't get in to destroy it! Ato suddenly gets an idea; he tells Barusomuga and Taruriso to stand back, and takes out the Dragon Scale. He transforms into a dragon, and with his new strength, he opens the door. Naturally, Taruriso and Barusomuga are surprised. Ato turns back to a human, but not before experiencing some pain. Taruriso heals him, and when they are about to have a mushy love moment, Barusomuga breaks them up. The three continue to the deepest part of the ruins. Go into the next room, where you'll see an old man doing something to the statue. This guy's name is Bagiso; the mayor told you about him. Choose the first choice, and he'll join your party, and he'll give you a Quake Rock. It seems Bagiso has been holding the statue back with his power, but now he lets it go, and it attacks your party. ***************************************************************************** BOSS 1: Golem (And Spike Ball x 4) Recommended Levels- A 6, Taruriso (T) 3, Barusomuga (G) 6, Bagiso (B) 10 Reward: 44 EXP, 120 G Strategy- Hopefully, Bagiso will use his Quake magic to get rid of the Spike Balls on his first turn. Do not have Ato advance until he does so! With the Spike Balls out of the way, concentrate everything on the Golem. With both Barusomuga and Atorushaso attacking him, while Bagiso uses Fireball and Taruriso heals, he'll go down quite quickly. A really easy battle, unless you make Atorushaso advance right away. ***************************************************************************** After the battle, you'll automatically be sent back to the entrance of the ruins. Go down the stairs, to find a person dying! Bagiso wonders what's going on, and suggest that you go back to the town. I have a bad feeling about this... Go back to the town, to find out that nearly everyone is dead! The only people alive are the people that own the shops (Not the Inn, though), and the owner of the bar! Go buy Wooden Shields for Bagiso and Taruriso. Don't buy the Short Rod for Taruriso, though. I find her to be better with the Short Bow. Once you're done, say good-bye to the remains of Uruwan'-no, and head southwest. --------E. Eruba-dono Town-------- Party: A Level 8, G Level 6, Taruriso (T) Level 6, Bagiso (B) Level 10 Items: Caped Guy's Note (Special Item) Pretty Helmet Pretty Dress Thick Armor Potion 100 G Enemies: Guard (8 EXP, 35 G) Soldier (BOSS ACCOMPLICE) Caped Guy (BOSS) Inn: 50 G Weapon Shop: Broad Sword (200 G) Long Sword (600 G) Long Bow (300 G) Wooden Knuckles (80 G) Armor Shop: Wooden Armor (100 G) Thick Armor (300 G) Leather Shield (30 G) Wooden Shield (150 G) Iron Helmet (150 G) Item Shop: Potion (10 G) Tent (40 G) Leave the first town, and go down and left, until you see a sign. From here, keep following the path, until you reach In front of the Inn is a guy that will take you somewhere for 100 G; don't do it. The Inn costs 50 G to rest, and the Weapon and Armor Stores have new equipment for sale. As in any RPG, you should buy armor before weapons. Spend everything you have on armor, and if you don't have enough cash, here's what you can do. Oh yeah, the guy at the Armor Shop will give you a Potion if you buy something. In the bottom right hand corner of town is a place where you can battle for money. Talk to the guy behind the counter. Choosing the first choice gives you an easy battle, and you'll win 200 G if you win. The second choice is a bit harder, but you'll get 400 G. The final choice makes you fight in an extremely hard battle for 2000 G! Since your levels are low, I recommend fighting in the first choice, and nothing higher. Use the money you win from this to buy stuff! But you can only do this a limited amount of times, unfortunately. Walk inside the Casino and give the bunny girl 100 G to challenge her to a card-flipping match. Move your crosshairs over the monsters (Not Lauren!) and press A to get a point. Hitting Taruriso will make you lose a point. The first one to get 15 points wins! For winning, you win a Pretty Helmet for a female in your party. Go to the bar and talk to the bartender. Everyone will eat, and Barusomuga will have a flashback. Greg seems to have a grudge on a caped man, who lives in this same city. The reason is unknown, or at least to Americans who don't know English. Baruso is about to leave, but Bagiso stops him. You promise Barusomuga that you'll look for this man right now. Go to the house above the Inn, that's being blocked by a soldier. Talk to the soldier, who remembers Barusomuga. This starts a battle with two Soldiers. Easy stuff. Enter the house, go right, and then up. Open the chest for some Thick Armor. Head down, right, and up to fight three Soldiers. Head into the next room. Go left, and you'll see some more guards. Even if you sneak past them, another will find you anyway. This starts a battle with four Soldiers. Go into the next room, and go right and up. More guards will attack you (Five). Go right and down for a Potion. Go left, up, left, up, and right for 100 G. Now go straight left, to fight the last pair of guards (Guess how many?). After the battle, take the note on the desk. Samuel reads it to you (I can't, as it would give away too many spoilers), and you hear a voice coming from afar. Who could it be?! None other than the guy from Barusomuga's flashback! Get ready for Barusomuga's last battle... ***************************************************************************** BOSS 2: Caped Guy (And Soldier x 4) Recommended Levels- A 9, T 7, G 6, B 10 Reward: 44 EXP, 120 G Strategy- At first, you might think Bagiso's Quake might be useful in this battle. But believe me, you'll be wanting him to cast Heal more than Quake! Spread out Barusomuga and Ato, and make sure Taruriso and Bagiso are in the back. Get rid of the Soldiers first (Each do 30-60 damage a round), and then concentrate on the Caped Guy (100-400 damage a round, more if characters are near each other). This dude does unbelievable damage, and even with his buddies gone, he's going to be a problem. Just pray that Taruriso and Bagiso Heal you each round, and more importantly, move Ato away from the others! ***************************************************************************** After the battle, more guards will come after you. But Samuel convinces the guards that they aren't bad. The guards take you to the King. The King will call forth his son (Hasuramu) and daughter (Faruna). This is where Barusomuga will say good-bye. Don't worry, though; Kyle makes a great replacement as a fighter, and Joan is pretty good, too. But like Barusomuga, neither of them can grow levels. In the castle, be sure to check the upper room for a Pretty Dress! Before leaving, buy Hasuramu a Long Sword, and any other equipment you couldn't afford before. Once you're ready, leave Eruba-dono, and head north. --------F. Attack!------- Level: A 10, T 8, B 10, Hasuramu (H) 17, Faruna (F) 15 Items: Key (Special Item) Gate Key (Special Item) Leather Glove INT Candy Iron Armor ??? 100 G Iron Sword Enemies: Guard (8 EXP, 30 G) Soldier ( Wizard (15 EXP, 16 G) Ghost (4 EXP, 3 G) Kobold Warrior (BOSS ACCOMPLICE) ( Parago (BOSS) ( From the last town, head up to a castle surrounded by a moat of some sort. Talk to the guard there, and walk up the stairs in the back to get Grandfather's Hat (Only equippable by Faruna). Head back down and enter the door. In this place, you can talk to all of the soldiers if you want to. Once you're ready, head into the next room. The guy in there is planning an attack on the fort to the northwest. Everyone leaves, and you plan to go there, too. Head northwest to the fort. At the gate, talk to the soldiers, and they will ram open the gate with a tree. They'll go ahead of you, but don't follow them yet. I'd stay around the gate and fight the (Really easy) guards (that die in one hit) to gain lots of EXP and money. Ato grew to level 12 and Taruriso grew to 9 before I entered. Once you feel you're ready, enter the door, to find out that the guards have been killed by monsters! A ghost revives the guards and takes them away. Fight the battle (3 Soldiers, 3 Wizards) and follow the ghost. Oh yeah, you'll get a Key from that battle. Head down the stairs. In these cells, you'll find the soldiers from before. There's a chest with an INT Candy, and in the third cell, you'll find a chest with an Iron Armor. Go down the stairs at the end of the hall. Go left, to see the general from the other fort! After talking to him, head down. In the left room in the first row, you'll get a chest with an item. I have absolutely no clue on what this does; if anyone else does, then e-mail me. You can use it in battle, but it's effect remains unknown. The right cell in the first row is locked, so head to the second row. In this row, go through the right cell first, for 100 G. Now, go into the left cell, and get ready for a boss! ***************************************************************************** BOSS 3: Paragon (And Guard x 2, Kobold Warrior x 3) Recommended Levels- A 13, T 12, B 10, Hasuramu (H) 17, Faruna (F) 15 Reward: 143 EXP, 496 G Strategy- Easier than easy. Spend your first turn killing the two Guards, and then step back a little bit. The Kobold Warriors will most likely attack you, but Hasuramu can take care of them. Parago isn't that tough, either; his move range is pretty low, meaning he'll usually only get a single attack or two per turn (Hasuramu can get four!). With the rest of the enemies out of the way, have Ato, Hasu, and Faruna gang up on the boss, while Taru and Bagiso heal them. Also, Faruna can heal, if you didn't know already. A really easy boss. ***************************************************************************** After the battle, you'll get the Gate Key, which allows you to go to the next part of the world. Go talk to the general, and Hasuramu will open the gate. When the general gives you a choice, CHOOSE THE SECOND OPTION! Remember that locked cell in the first row? Enter it now to get an Iron Sword! Now go back to the general and choose the first choice. He'll take the Gate Key, and now you can go to the next town! Go down through the door Hasuramu just opened, go down again, and then head left. YaY! --------G. Kirude-runo Town-------- Party: A 13, T 12, B 10, H 17, F 15 Items: Pretty Helmet Enemies: Pig Warrior (10 EXP, 19 G) Frankenstein (13 EXP, 13 G) Purple Crow (4 EXP, 7 G) Inn: 100 G Weapon Shop: Broad Sword (200 G) Long Sword (600 G) Long Bow (300 G) Iron Mace (700 G) Armor Shop: Wooden Armor (300 G) Iron Armor (800 G) Leather Shield (30 G) Wooden Shield (150 G) Wooden Helmet (150 G) Item Shop: Potion (10 G) Tent (40 G) Hi-Potion (50 G) Once you're outside of this fort place, head southwest, toward another town. Go ahead and look around; there's nothing new at the Weapon Shop, except for the Iron Mace (Which only Bagiso [So far] can equip). DO NOT BUY IT!!! You'll see why soon. Go to the Armor Shop, and buy two Iron Armors (You should already have one from the fort place). Go to the Casino, talk to the Bunny Girl, and give her 500 G to play a Slot Machine type game. Before you start the slot machines, you better save your state! (If you have the ROM, that is) Press A, and then save. Press A again, and if it matches your previous selection, save. Press A one last time, and if you matched the picture correctly, you'll get a Pretty Helmet. If you didn't get it perfect, then load you state and try again. Now, head to the Bar. Talk to the owner, and Bagiso will say something. Leave town, and follow the path of rubble to the left of the town. You'll eventually reach a cave... Enter it. --------H. Hydra Cave-------- Party: A 16, T 14, B 10, H 17, F 15 Items: Maimono Ring (Special Item) 100 G x 2 INT Candy Bagiso's Memento Enemies: Wizard (15 EXP, 16 G) Spike Ball (6 EXP, 5 G) Scorpion (16 EXP, 20 G) Skeleton (4 EXP, 5 G) Walk up to the rock blocking the opening, and Bagiso will get rid of it with his magic. Now, before you head in... UNEQUIP EVERYTHING BAGISO HAS ON!!! He'll be leaving you shortly. Once he's unequipped, enter the cave. You'll see a chest to the bottom left of the entrance. Open it to get 100 G. Head up and left, and Bagiso will say goodbye. Go up, and cross the bridge to your right. Keep going right, and then head down, for a Heavy Sword. Now go far up, to see a pile of bones. Faruna will receive a weird ring, which I'll call the Maimono Ring. From the pile of bones, head left, then up, to the next part of the cave. Enter the first room you see (Above you) for a INT Candy. The room to the right of that one has 100 G. Now, exit the room, and head right and down, to the next part. Get the Potion in the bottom right hand part of this place, and then head up, through the eastern cave. A dialogue scene will be automatically triggered when you walk in. Suddenly, Hasuramu falls into the water! Thankfully, a Hydra comes to the surface, saving Hasuramu. Everyone except Ato backs away, since they're scared. Then the Hydra tells you that you must find the five legendary items; you already have one, the Dragon Scale. Then the Hydra will go back underwater... Time to go! Head back to the entrance. What's this...? Bagiso isn't here anymore; instead, a staff takes his place. Equip it to Faruna, who is the only one who can use it. Exit the cave, and then go back to the town to the southwest. Talk to the bartender, and Hasuramu will say something. Leave the town and head south, and a little bit east. You'll eventually see another cave. Could Bagiso be here? --------I. The Second Cave-------- Party: A 17, T 16, H 17, F 15 Items: Bagiso's Note (Special Item) Pass to the Fort (Special Item) Soldier's Uniform (Special Item) Sparkle Dress ??? Mega Potion Quake Rock Enemies: Cobra (10 EXP, 2 G) Warrior (14 EXP, 11 G) Purple Beast (25 EXP, 18 G) Enter the cave. Now, listen carefully... DO NOT STEP ON THE SQUARES WITH THE BLUE DOTS!!! Doing so will send you to the entrance of the cave. With that said, here's where you should go. Walk through a red square on the left side, and go up. Go all the way to the left, and head down, on the red square. Go down and left, to pick up the Sparkle Dress. Keep heading up, through the red squares, and you'll get an item, which I dunno what it does. Head down two red squares, then go all the way to the right. Head down once you see a red square. Head down again, and get the Mega Potion, and head up and right. Keep going up, until you get a Quake Rock. Then, go left, down, and then up. Open the chest... It contains a note from Bagiso. Hmm... After a lot of talking, you should leave the cave; step on a blue dot for a shortcut. Go to the town AGAIN, but this time, talk to the man in the house in the left part of town. You must give him a Hi-Potion; if you don't have one, you can buy one in the Item Shop in this town (Don't ask how I figured this out). If you don't have a Hi-Potion, he won't talk to you! Anyways, when you're talking to him, choose the first option both times; choosing the second option the second time will make him angry, and you must buy another Hi-Potion. He'll give you a pass to the fort in the southwest. Go southwest now, and enter the fort. However, the guards still won't let you pass. Head back to the town, and go into the Item Shop. This took me FOREVER to figure out! Talk to the girl, and choose the first option. A man will come out, and he'll give you a Soldier's Uniform. Head back to the fort (Southwest of the town). When you walk in, Ato will change into the soldier's uniform. Talk to the guards, who will let you in. Keep going down; you can't open any of the doors. At the bottom, you'll meet two more guards, who'll find you suspicious. Choose either choice; either way, you'll have to fight. Don't worry, though; this battle is beyond easy. You'll run off, and you'll leave behind the Soldier's Uniform. --------J. Fuuvo-vi Town-------- Party: A 19, T 18, H 17, F 15 Items: Key to the Castle (Special Item) Note from the Silver Guy (Special Item) Pretty Knuckles Sleep Potion Enemies: Cobra (10 EXP, 2 G) Warrior (14 EXP, 11 G) (BOSS ACCOMPLICE) Soldier (9 EXP, 12 G) (In castle) (BOSS ACCOMPLICE) Purple Beast (25 EXP, 18 G) (In castle) Frankenstein (13 EXP, 13 G) (In castle) Erumu (200 EXP, 2000 G) (BOSS) Inn: 120 G Weapon Shop: Super Sword (7000 G) Rebel's Sword (6200 G) Super Bow (3000 G) Iron Sword (1500 G) Armor Shop: Heavy Armor (1800 G) Very Heavy Armor (4200 G) Silver Armor (8000 G) Iron Helmet (650 G) Item Shop: Potion (10 G) Mega Potion (120 G) Tent (40 G) Head south, and a little bit east, and you'll reach the fourth town. Ahhhhhhh!!! Look at those prices!!! You will probably be unable to buy everything, but that's OK. Try to buy two Heavy Armors and three Iron Greaves, for a little bit more protection. DO NOT BUY THE SUPER SWORD! You'll get one for free soon enough. The monsters in the battling thing in the southwest part of town are insane; even the "Easy" monsters can destroy you in one turn! Therefore, DON'T GO THERE!!! There's yet another Casino in this town; give the Bunny Girl 1000 G to play a Memory game. If you win, you get Pretty Knuckles! Now, go to the bar and talk to the bartender. Choose the first choice to give him 20 G; now, pay attention! Choose all the choices except for the bottom choice! When only two choices remain, choose the top one, and then talk to the pig guy to the left. He'll step aside, and allow you to pass. Head down the hall, and talk to the guy with in the silver armor; he'll take your pass you got in the third town. Talk to him again, and a dialogue scene will occur. Suddenly, something will happen! I'm not sure what, but it sounds bad! The silver guy will open a secret staircase and go down. You follow him. Talk to him again, and choose either choice; it doesn't matter. He'll give you the Key to the Castle. Talk to the red-head on the left side of the room for a Sleep Potion (All enemies in battle fall asleep!). Now, go up the stairs, down the hall, and out of the house. Head up to the castle... Hasuramu and Faruna will argue, and then you will open the door. Enter. Right when you enter, you'll have a battle with 2 Soldiers and 4 Purple Beasts. Really easy. Talk to the guy behind the counter if you want to; he won't give you anything. Head through the room near the counter, and go down the hall, into the next room. Go to the right, and open the chest for some Brass Knuckles. Once you're ready, head into the next room. In this room is a guy you saw near the beginning of the game; remember when Ato was flying to the first town, and on the way he saw a village being attacked? Well, if you looked closely, the guy in this room was in that picture. Atorushaso will run up and slash the guy (Osutorakon), and then he'll try to attack him again. But a wizard appears and stops Ato. Osutorakon disappears, and you must fight the wizard! ***************************************************************************** BOSS 4: Erumu (And Soldier x 2, Warrior x 3) Recommended Levels- A 20, T 18, H 17, F 15 Reward: 260 EXP, 2057 G Strategy- Be careful; this guy has a powerful Bolt spell that damages EVERYONE on your team! Hopefully, Taruriso and Faruna will spend their turns healing. On your first turn, get rid of those pesky Soldiers. Then, get rid of the Warriors before tackling the wizard. Hasuramu and Atorushaso should give him all they've got. After a while, he'll be defeated. ***************************************************************************** Now, unequip all of Hasuramu's stuff (Sniffle), and head down to the silver guy. After talking a bit, you'll all go to the bar. A guy will come in, with some urgent news. Hasuramu will say good-bye, and he'll head off, with the red-head. The silver guy will give you a note. Leave town, and head southeast, toward the next town (Or village, whatever you prefer). --------K. Dadowa Village-------- Party: A 20, T 19, W 15 Inn: 300 G Item Shop: Potion (10 G) Mega Potion (120 G) ??? (180 G) INT Candy (200 G) Tent (40 G) Not much at all to do here. Well... Except for one very important thing. Enter the bottom right house, and go all the way to the right, and then up. Talk to the guy there and then, after a short dialogue scene, you'll get a new member on your party! His name is Yaman. If I were you, I'd head back to the previous town and buy a Super Bow for Yaman. He'll deal out LOTTTTTTTTTS of damage! But I'm not you, so... Anyways, to the east (And a little bit south) of the town where you got Yaman, there'll be a path. It's actually a forest... --------L. The Mysterious Forest-------- Party: A 20, T 19, F 15, Yaman (Y) 18 Items: ??? (Resurrect Potion?) Enemies: Fireball (18 EXP, 15 G) Spooky Ghost (15 EXP, 30 G) Reaper (9 EXP, 14 G) Skeleton Soldier (16 EXP, 15 G) This is a pretty difficult puzzle. Sometimes, the trees aren't trees; instead, they're just a mirage. How can you tell? Well, stand next to a tree, and if it disappears, then it's not really there! Pretty confusing, but you'll get the hang of it. Near the entrance is a fake tree, above you. Go up, and then southeast. Open the chest for a ??? (What the hell do these things do?!). Go up, right, and then down. After some words from Yaman, keep going down, and you'll soon reach... Nanai Village! A lady will let you sleep in her house for 20G, and this crazy guy is selling Potions for 50 G! Leave through the south part of town. Go down, right, up, right, down, right, and up, into the cave. --------M. The Reunion-------- Party: A 22, T 21, F 15, Y 18 Items: Purple Dragon Eye (Super Special Item) Super Knuckles Quake Rock Super Sword 100 G Enemies: Skeleton Soldier (16 EXP, 15 G) Mad Dog (27 EXP, 13 G) Cave Zombie (15 EXP, 23 G) Cave Guy (17 EXP, 30 G) (BOSS ACCOMPLICE) Purple Slime (BOSS ACCOMPLICE) Giant Octopus (BOSS) Go straight up, and you'll see a giant scorpion/octopus thing, finishing a meal. It'll run away, leaving green slime behind it. DO NOT TOUCH THE GREEN SLIME! It will make you want to cry for your mommy, by doing 100 damage to each of your characters. But before following it, head left and down for some Smart Knuckles. Now, follow the trail of green slime until you come to an intersection. Go to the right, and then up, for a Quake Rock. Continue following the slime, and you'll run into the octopus thing again. It'll shoot a fireball at you, dealing 500 damage to everyone. I don't think you can avoid this. Keep going up, while sidestepping the slime. Head right instead of left, and then go up to get the Smart Sword. Head back to the slime, and you'll see the octopus thing again. It'll be trapped in a dead end. Just when you think you have it, it climbs up a wall. Unfortunately, you can't do the same, since he turns the wall he climbs into rubble. Follow the slime backwards, to the pile of bones. Once you get there, head down and left. You'll reach an intersection. If you go down, you'll get the Smart Knuckles (So get them if you didn't get them before!). Go up. You'll come to a bigger intersection. Take the upper left path to get 100 G. Now, take the upper right path. You'll see the slime trail again... Follow it, and what you find will shock you. A large dialogue scene will take place, which I'm not going to spoil for you. Before passing away, your old friend will hand you the Purple Orb. This can be used exactly like the Dragon Scale can; it lets you transform into a dragon and deal lots of damage to enemies (This one deals around 600 damage to all enemies). After handing you the Purple Dragon Eye, the guy will tell Faruna about her past. Then, he dies... Before, Faruna has been a mediocre fighter, with little use. Get ready for a surprise! Head to the back to avenge her grandfather! ***************************************************************************** BOSS 5: Giant Octopus (And Purple Slime x 2, Cave Guy x 2) Recommended Levels- A 24, T 22, F 28, Y 18 Reward: 484 EXP, 3076 G Strategy- I have two strategies to beat this pretty tough boss- Strategy 1: On your first turn, press X, and choose the option in the bottom-left hand corner. If it won't let you, then use some Potions to restore Ato's HP. Select the Purple Orb, and watch as it does around 600 damage to all enemies. Hopefully, Faruna and Yaman will get rid of the weakened Purple Slimes. (Faruna will heal Ato before attacking, though) On your next turn, kill any remaining Purple Slimes, and then kill the Cave Guys before tackling the Giant Octopus. Strategy 2: Make sure Yaman is in the left hand part of the screen before starting the battle! You can change their positions by choosing Tactics in the Main Menu (Look at the Gameplay Basics section). Also, make sure Ato is in the upper right hand corner. On your first turn, kill the Purple Slime to the right. Yaman will probably attack the other Purple Slime. Why are the Purple Slimes bad? Because they can freeze your characters for a few rounds! Faruna can un- freeze them, but what if she gets frozen? I think the Purple Slimes are more of a threat than the Giant Octopus itself. Once you're done with the Slimes, take out the annoying Cave Guys before beating on the semi-dangerous Giant Octopus. Thankfully, it doesn't have much HP. ***************************************************************************** After the boss dies, you'll automatically leave the cave. Head back to the small village (Not the one where you got Yaman. The one in the middle of the forest). Enter the house in the lower right-hand part of the town. Talk to the girl there and get the Grandfather Shoes. Now, unequip all of Yaman's stuff... Head through the north exit, and Yaman will leave your party. Leave the forest, and go northwest, to the town where Hasuramu (The blonde guy) left. Talk to everyone in the bar, then head northeast, to the cave. Go to the back, and talk to the silver guy from before. He (Hosurou) will join you! --------N. Attack! Part 2-------- Party: A 25, T 23, F 28, Hasorou (O) 35 Items: ??? Mega Potion Enemies: Skeleton Soldier (16 EXP, 15 G) Spooky Ghost (15 EXP, 30 G) Headless Soldier (11 EXP, 2 G) Cave Zombie (15 EXP, 23 G) (BOSS ACCOMPLICE) Bashita (350 EXP, 4000 G) (BOSS) Go northwest from the town where Hasuramu left. You'll be at the fort at which those annoying guards were. Some of Hasorou's buddies will take care of the guards, allowing you to pass. After talking with them, go up the stairs to the north, and Hasorou will break down the door. Watch out for the Headless Soldiers inside here; they can do around 500 damage in one turn! Thankfully, both Taruriso and Faruna can heal. Take the headless guys out first before anyone else. Anyway, go down the stairs to the north. Keep heading straight up, past the first "intersection" (You can see that the path to the right is a dead end, anyway). Go left, and then up, and you'll be at another intersection. Head north and go up the stairs to get an item. Go back downstairs, and this time head to the right. Keep going right and down, and when you get to yet another intersection, head down. Go up the stairs and get the Mega Potion inside the chest. Go back downstairs, head up and left. Go left when you have the choice, and enter the big doors. Save! Down the hall, you'll meet a very tough boss and his minions... ***************************************************************************** BOSS 6: Bashita (And Cave Zombie x 7) Recommended Levels- A 26, T 25, F 28, O 35 Reward: 455 EXP, 4161 G Strategy- Geez! This is possibly the toughest boss yet. The Zombies will make each other disappear, making it very hard to find out where they're at. You COULD just try slashing everywhere, OR you could try this strategy: The Ninja gets the first move, and he is almost sure to attack Atorushaso. Ato will move next; use a Mega Potion on him. Then use the Purple Dragon Eye to change into a dragon, dealing around 600 damage to all enemies. Unfortunately, most of the Zombies will still be living after the attack. If you're unlucky, they'll all attack Ato, and will kill him. Thankfully, this doesn't happen very often. After changing into a dragon, Taruriso will heal you back to full health. Then Faruna and Hasorou will take care of any remaining Zombies (Hopefully). Now, concentrate everything on the Ninja. Even though he has some powerful attacks (One of them deals 300-500 damage to everyone), you should be able to take him down. This battle may take a few tries. ***************************************************************************** After the battle, leave the hall, and head right and up the stairs. Everyone will talk, and then Hasorou's buddies will leave. Follow them out the door, and head north. Keep going northeast to the next town. Run into the guy in front of the bar, and you'll fight a pretty easy battle. Save, and then enter the bar. Talk to the barkeep, and then leave the bar, and head to the center of town. You'll see the guy from before, except he's been tied up to the tree! Talk to him, and another battle will initiate. Change to a dragon to make it much faster. Also, quickly take out any enemies near Taruriso. After the battle, you'll automatically return to the guy's house. A woman there will heal him, and he'll tell you where to go next. Before leaving town, though, talk to the guy in the southwest corner to get 1000 G! You can also shop for some new items here: Weapon Shop Silver Sword (8000 G) Heavy Sword (4000 G) Rebel's Knuckles (3800 G) Iron Mace (700 G) Armor Shop Iron Armor (800 G) Heavy Armor (1800 G) Silver Armor (8000 G) Iron Greaves (650 G) When you're ready, leave town, and head northwest, to the next fort. (Actually, you went through this one before the one you were just at, so that would be the PREVIOUS fort, not the next fort... Or something). --------O. Attack! Part 3-------- Party: A 27, T 26, F 28, O 35 Items: Fort Key (Special Item) Enemies: Vicious Cobra (32 EXP, 31 G) (Outside) Purple Slime (35 EXP, 8 G) (Outside) Fireball (18 EXP, 15 G) (Inside) Mad Dog (27 EXP, 13 G) (Inside) Talk to the redhead, and then go inside. If you didn't get the treasures before, now's your chance. The treasures are inside the cells. Go all the way to the top. This is the hall with the three cells. In the third cell, you'll meet a guy. Talk to him, and you'll be given many choices. It doesn't matter whatever you do; you'll eventually get a Fort Key. This guy isn't really a boss, but the second time you fight him, he's pretty tough (The first time, he's a pushover). Anyway... Head to the right, up the stairs. Keep going right to open the fort wall, with your Fort Key. Hosorou will talk with his buddies again, and then you can head right, out to the world map. --------P. Attack! Part 4-------- Party: A 28, T 27, F 28, O 35 Items: Mega Potion Ultimate Potion 100 G Savior's Shield Enemies: Blue Ninja (38 EXP, 84 G) (World Map and House) Blue... Thingie (29 EXP, 63 G) (World Map and House) Purple Imp (28 EXP, 33 G) (World Map and House) Purple Bug (30 EXP, 14 G) (World Map and House) Super Frankenstein (29 EXP, 31 G) (House only) You've been here before, but the enemies are much stronger now. Take out any Ninjas surrounding you before taking out anything else. After the ninjas, you should kill the imps. They can attack many times per turn, and groups of them are deadly. The other enemies are also tough, but you should turn your attention to the ninjas and imps before taking care of them. Anyways, head to the town in the southwest corner of this area (The town where Barusomuga left you). You'll notice that nobody's outside... Head into the house in the upper-left hand corner. Here we go again... Go right all the way, and then up. Head left through this hall, and head through the door. Head right, and then all the way up and left. Inspect the map again. After talking, head to the room to your right. Everyone will start searching for a secret passage, and Faruna will find it. Enter it, of course! Go through the door, and then left until you come to an intersection. Oh wait, I almost forgot- WATCH OUT FOR THE FRANKENSTEIN ENEMIES!!! They can do 500 damage to a character with a single hit! Take them out ASAP!!!!! Anyway, at the intersection... There's two things you can do. You can get the treasures now, but you'll have to fight many enemies on the way. Or you can get the treasures in a little bit, where there's no enemies. It's your choice. If you want to get the treasures now, skip to the paragraph after the next one. If you want to get them later, then read on. Go left to the end of the hall, and then enter the door. A long scene will take place, and you'll see many familiar faces; including Hasuramu and Osutorakon! The evil man will take him away. Hosorou and Ato will talk with him, and then Osutorakon will disappear. Now, for the treasures in the area. If you've already seen Hasuramu being taken away, then no monsters will be here. Go ahead and head all the away up, and get the Mega Potion to your left. From there, go all the way to the right, and then down, and then right. There's two chests here; the upper one contains an Ultimate Potion and the one to the right has a meager 100 G. If you didn't see the scene with Hasuramu before, read the previous paragraph. Leave the building. To the right of this one, you'll see another house. Enter the left door and talk to the woman to get a Savior's Shield. In the castle, you can meet Barusomuga again, but he won't join you. Talk to the guy outside of the Inn, and go to the town farthest to the west (Kirude-runo Town). From there, head southwest, to the fort again. Go to the other side, where you'll meet an old friend... Yaman! After he and Faruna have a talk, he rejoins your party!!! Hopefully, you still have his equipment from before; if so, give him his Super Bow and Hunter's Hat. Head down to the town in the southeast to pick up anything you need: Inn: 120 G Weapon Shop: ??? (18000 G) Super Sword (7000 G) Rebel's Sword (6200 G) Super Bow (3000 G) Iron Sword (1500 G) Armor Shop: Heavy Armor (1800 G) Very Heavy Armor (4200 G) Silver Armor (8000 G) Iron Helmet (650 G) Item Shop: Potion (10 G) Mega Potion (120 G) Tent (40 G) Leave, and head to the small village to the southeast. --------Q. The Mysterious Forest, Part 2-------- Party: A 32, T 30, F 33, O 35, Yaman (Y) 28 Items: Forest Map (Special Item) Leather Glove Mega Potion x 2 100 G Tent Enemies: Fireball (18 EXP, 15 G) (First part) Spooky Ghost (15 EXP, 30 G) (First part) Reaper (9 EXP, 14 G) (First part) Skeleton Soldier (16 EXP, 15 G) (First part) ---------------------------------------------- Little Snowman (35 EXP, 25 G) Pumpkin (28 EXP, 19 G) Lizardman (37 EXP, 27 G) Red Goblin (18 EXP, 57 G) Mad Chicken (18 EXP, 15 G) Go into Yaman's house (southeast corner of town), and head to the back. Yaman will talk to his friend. Leave the room, go down, and inspect the bookcase to your left. Yaman will search it, and give you the Forest Map. Leave the village, and head into the forest to the right of it. At the entrance of the forest, head up, and keep going until you get to the village in the forest. Go south of this village, and keep going down until you see an invisible tree. Walk through it, and then go down and left, and open the chest, past the tree, for a Leather Glove. Go back up and right, and then down and right. Past a transparent tree to the south, you'll find a Mega Potion. Keep going right, and then up. You should be in front of the place where you got the Purple Dragon Eye... Walk ABOVE the cave, not inside! Yaman will show you a secret path that leads on! Get ready for some tougher enemies... Walk to the top, and head STRAIGHT to the right. If you do this right, you should walk through the trees, and get 100 G. From there, go all the way down, and then left. Ignore the see-through tree, and go down. Keep going down, and you'll eventually reach the next area... Go down, but ignore the transparent tree; instead, go left and get the Mega Potion, and then go down and right. Keep going right, and then down and left, and you'll soon arrive at an intersection. Go left, through the trees, and up to restore your HP and MP at a fountain. Go back, and this time go down at the intersection. Go right and down at the next intersection, past the invisible trees. Get the Forest Knuckles there. Go left and up, and left some more. Go all the way up for a Tent. Now go left and down all the way, to get to the NEXT area. Wow, this seems very familiar... Don't worry, though. It's not the same place. Go all the way down, and you'll eventually see some trees you can pass through. Go left from there, and you'll see a... house?! No, you can't enter it... Go up, and then all the way to the left. Now, walk all the way to the top. Pass through the trees, and you'll be at a castle..... Enter. Walk to the back and talk to Fuwaru. Choose all of her answers once, and then choose the bottom choice. Walk down the stairs to the left of her... --------R. Lair of the Red Dragon Fangs-------- Party: A 36-37, T 36-37, F 33, O 35, Y 28 Items: Red Dragon Fangs (Super Special Item) Angel's Crest (Special Item) Key to the Water Gate (Special Item) 5000 G x 2 POINT Candy ??? Enemies: Green Battler (34 EXP, 41 G) Green Pig Warrior (25 EXP, 62 G) (BOSS ACCOMPLICE) Demon (32 EXP, 53 G) Giant Lizard (BOSS ACCOMPLICE) Dragon Zombie (BOSS) In here, you must step on the five panels to continue. In the upper left hand corner, you'll find 5000 G. You'll find another 5000 G in the left crevice. You'll also find an POINT Candy and another treasure chest in the lower left crevices. Now, "touch" all of the panels on the wall, and read the tombstone; it gives you a clue on which order to push the panels on the floor. I -could- make you do all the work yourself, but then this wouldn't be a walkthrough, would it? All I ask is that you respect the three hours I spent translating the tombstone!!! Step on the panels in the following order: Yellow Blue Gold Silver Green The door should open. Walk inside. As soon as you enter, your party will automatically walk forward towards the pedestal. After they're done talking, check it again; not surprisingly, the dragon bones on the ground will rise, and it will attack you! ***************************************************************************** BOSS 7: Dragon Zombie (And Green Pig Warrior x 3, Giant Lizard x 3) Recommended Levels- A 38-40, T 38-40, F 33, O 35, Y 28 Reward: 1060 EXP, 2981 G Strategy- Not a very tough battle. Take out the Lizards first, as they can multiply, and also heal! After they're all gone, take out the Dragon, as it can deal out surprising damage to al of your characters. By the time it's gone, your allies will probably have killed the pigs, which aren't much of a threat. ***************************************************************************** After the battle, Ato will take the Crest from the pedestal, and he'll notice something the dragon left behind; the Yellow Dragon Fangs!!! Leave the cave, and talk to Fuwaru. She'll give you a Key to the Water Gate. Leave the palace, and choose the first option to have Fuwaru transport you out of the forest. Go northwest, past the fort. North of the fort, you'll see a bridge... --------S. Easy stuff. Keep going north, and you'll be at the world map. Save, and cross the bridge to the north. Go up the bridge, and fight the baddies that attack you. There's nothing hidden outside, so walk in the castle. Walk up, and a little bit to your left you'll find a chest containing an Ultimate Potion. Walk up the staircase on the bottom right side of the screen to get two chests with 100 G and a ???. Walk up the bottom left stairs for 100 G and an ATT Candy. Now, walk up the upper left stairs. Walk towards the center, and you'll see guards chasing a little girl. Enter the door. In the middle, you'll see the guards and girl again. The guards turn their attention towards you and attack. After the battle, the girl will turn into a monster! She raises the soldiers, and attacks you. She's not really a boss, and isn't very hard, either. Just get rid of the Blue Soldiers before attacking her. After the battle, leave the room, and go down the stairs to the right and up. In this room, go left and up the stairs. You'll be in the room where you fought the girl. Go left and down for a Mega Potion. Now go up, right, down, and up. Walk all the way around to the other side. However, don't go up the stairs. Below the stairs is a chest with a Holy Robe. Now go up the stairs. There's nothing on the other side, so go through the door (You can see Osutorakon standing on top of the castle). In this room, save, -unequip everything Faruna has on-, and walk up the stairs. Once up here, Osutorakon will ask you for your Angel's Crest, in exchange for Hasuramu's life. I'm not going to spoil for you what happens. Let's just say you fight him. ***************************************************************************** BOSS 8: Osutorakon (And Giant Lizard x 3) Recommended Levels- A 42, T 41, F 33, O 35, Y 28 Reward: ??? EXP, ??? G Strategy- Extremely easy. Osutorakon can hurt your team for about 500 HP each, but if you concentrate everything on him, he'll go down in no time flat. Take out the Lizards after killing the boss. ***************************************************************************** After the battle, the evil guy will teleport away. More sadly, Faruna leaves you... She was with you all this time, but now she's... (Sniffle) Also, unequip anything Hosurou has on. He'll leave as soon as you leave the castle, which is the next thing you should do. At the entrance of the castle, you'll meet Hasurou's buddies again, and one of them joins you, in exchange for Faruna and Hosurou. His name is... Karushiyuwaru. (Phew) Save, and leave the area. --------T. When you come to a bridge, you're over halfway there! Not only that, but the enemies you fight start to change... Keep going west, and you'll eventually reach Hiruro-do Town. At the entrance of the town, you'll see a boy playing with a bow and arrow. Yaman talks to him, and he runs off. Buy anything you need to at the shops, and then head into the battling square, in the upper left part of town. Save, and then walk into the square and talk to the guy. Get ready... ***************************************************************************** BOSS 9: Tairyokubaka (And Angry Caveman x 4, Super Frankenstein x 3) Recommended Levels- A 45, T 43, Y 28, K 41 Reward: 883 EXP, 1037 G Strategy- Tougher than the last two bosses. The Frankensteins deal more damage than the boss, which means you should kill them first. With them out of the way, kill the Cavemen before finishing off the boss. He doesn't last long. ***************************************************************************** After the battle, the green guy will come up and talk to you, and then he'll leave. Unequip everything Yaman has on, and follow the green-haired man. Once outside, the man starts talking. Before he can finish a line, a stray arrow comes out of nowhere and hits Yaman! It seems the boy from before accidentally hit him... You might think Yaman's OK, but he isn't. Some pretty cool graphics follow, and Yaman says his final words to Atorutsuyaso... He dies, and is buried. Everyone talks, and the green-haired man takes Yaman's place in the party. His name is Keojuyanto. Leave town, and go northeast. Take the small path over the water, and enter the mountains... --------U. Sub-Quests-------- Party: A 45, T 44, Karushiyuwaru (K) 41, Keojuyanto (J) 60 Items: Necklace (Special Item) Demon Sword These are two mini-subquests you can do if you want to. By doing this, you can get a pretty strong sword, as well as a Special Item. Southeast of Hiruro-do Town is a forest, with a lake in the middle. You can go into a new area by touching the lake from the southern side (Where there appears to be a ladder). Anyway, touch the lake from the northern side, and you'll get a Necklace. What does it do? Don't look at me. Leave the lake, and head as far west as you can. Once you reach the mountains, walk down along them until you see a plateau with poles sticking out of it. Walk onto it, and you'll get a Demon Sword. That's all the subquests I've found, as of yet. --------V. Mountain Range-------- Party: A 45, T 44, Karushiyuwaru (K) 41, Keojuyanto (J) 60 Items: Light Arrow (Special Item) 100 G x 2 POINT Candy Fur Cap Gold Rock x 2 Ultimate Potion Holy Mace Potion INT Candy Robe of Light Quake Stone 9646 G Enemies: Angry Caveman (24 EXP, 111 G) Demon (32 EXP, 53 G) Giant Lizard (41 EXP, 159 G) Vicious Cobra (32 EXP, 31 G) King Scorpion (550 EXP, 500 G) (BOSS) From the entrance, head to the right for 100 G. Go left, and up the stairs, for a POINT Candy. Now, enter the cave at the left. In this room, go all the way right and up, and you can get a Fur Cap for Keojuyanto, and two Silver Rocks. Go through the door on the left to get to the next area. In this place, get the Ultimate Potion above you. Now, there's two ways you can go; to the bottom left, or to the bottom right. Go through the bottom left door for 100 G, then go back in and go through the bottom right door. In here, go right and down... Go all the way down, and cross the bridge. On the other side, you'll find a Holy Mace for Taruriso. Equip it, save, and then go up to the scorpion above... ***************************************************************************** BOSS 10: King Scorpion x 3 Recommended Levels- A 46, T 44, K 41, J 60 Reward: 1650 EXP, 1500 G Strategy- Altogther, these guys can do around 2100 damage per round. Which means you shouldn't underestimate them. Concentrate on one scorpion until it's killed, then go after another, and then the last one. Taruriso will heal you, while Keojuyanto and Karushiyuwaru will greatly help you out. These guys seem to be able to take a beating, so this battle may last a while... ***************************************************************************** Walk up, and enter the house. In the upper left corner, talk to the man. Choose any choice you wish, it doesn't matter which. If he teleports away, don't worry. He'll be somewhere else in the house; talk to him again, and choose another choice. Repeat this until you've selected all of the choices. Now, he'll ask you a question, and you'll be given two choices. Pick the bottom one. He'll leave the house, so walk out the door. Now, he'll give you a Potion, a Quake Stone, and an INT Candy, as well as a Light Arrow. Then he'll walk back inside. Leave the area, and then walk back inside his house. Talk to him again, and he'll give you a list of choices. The first four aren't really important, but the last two are. However, you can only pick one of them. Here's what they do: Second to bottom choice: He gives you a Robe of Light. Bottom choice: He gives you a Quake Stone and 9646 G. I'd choose the top one. The Robe of Light gives Taruriso a hefty 800 defense, which you're going to need in a little bit... Head back the the entrance of the cave, where you'll meet a boy telling you that Hosurou is back. Go to the town again. Enter the bar. Hosurou will rejoin your party! Leave town, and go far to the right, until you see a sign. When you see it, go down, and you should be at a castle. --------W. Osutorakon's Castle-------- Party: A 47, T 45, K 41, J 60, O 45 Items: Black Orb Silver Shield Ultimate Potion Demon Bow Demon Crown Enemies: Demon (32 EXP, 53 G) Little Snowman (35 EXP, 25 G) Purple Imp (28 EXP, 33 G) (Normal Enemy/Boss Accomplice) Purple Slime (35 EXP, 8 G) Giant Lizard (41 EXP, 159 G) (BOSS ACCOMPLICE) Zombie Paragon (BOSS) Zombie Erumu (BOSS) Zombie Bashita (BOSS) Osutorakon (BOSS) Akudemon (BOSS) At the entrance, Keojuyanto will fire the Light Arrow, removing all of the fog. Then, Hosurou's troops will kill some of the soldiers, and then they'll open the gate. Walk inside. In here, walk to the right, up, right, down, right, and far up. Walk left, going up the stairs. In this room, go to the right, and walk up the stairs again. Go through the south door, and you'll be in a very small room. Flip the switches on the bottom wall, then return back to the entrance of the castle. From here, go a little bit to the left, up, and then up the stairs. Go left, and walk up this set of stairs, and then go down. You'll be on top of the castle. Talk to your troops if you want to, and head to the right. The red-head will talk to you, and then you'll continue to the right. Save, and then enter the door. Walk down the stairs, head right, and walk up. Head down the stairs. Walk left, up, and right for a chest containing a Silver Shield. Now go all the way to the left, and then up, left, and up. Get the chest for an Ultimate Potion, then walk through the door. In here, go up, right, down, right, up, right, and down. Walk down, left, and up through the door. Save immediately, take off all of Karushiyuwaru's stuff, and walk up. After Keojuyanto, Hosurou, and Karushiyuwaru yell at Osutorakon, he summons some of his minions, and attacks you. ***************************************************************************** BOSS 11: Osutorakon, Zombie Paragon, Zombie Erumu, Zombie Bashita Recommended Levels- A 47, T 46, K 41, J 60, O 45 Reward: 1550 EXP, 2900 G Strategy- Thankfully, not a single one of these guys has a lot of HP. Start out by killing Erumu, the wizard in front of you. He can revive his friends! You should be able to take him out on your first turn. After him, kill Osutorakon, followed by Bashita and Paragon. ***************************************************************************** After winning, Osutorakon transforms into a weird dragon thing. He's about to fire a beam at Atorushaso, but Karushiyuwaru pushes him out of the way, and gets vaporized instead. Then Osutorakon transforms into a giant demon, and you fight again. ****************************************************************************** BOSS 12: Akudemon (And Purple Imp x 4, Giant Lizard x 3) Recommended Levels- A 47, T 46, J 60, O 45 Reward: 1940 EXP, 4404 G Strategy- Since you don't have time to recover from the last fight, and since Karushiyuwaru is no more, this fight will be much harder than it usually would. In fact, this could be one of the hardest bosses yet. Akudemon has that annoying attack that deals 500 damage to everyone, and it's even more annoying since he can do it 3-4 times per round! Try to keep Hosurou and Keojuyanto alive, and more importantly, Taruriso. Turning into a dragon can be a fatal mistake, so I suggest you don't do it. Heal with Mega Potions, while slicing Akudemon to pieces. He takes a while to kill, but you still want to get rid of him ASAP. Also, kill any Giant Lizards nearby, as they can heal their master. Good luck! ****************************************************************************** After the battle, everyone will mourn for Karushiyuwaru, and then Ato will pick up the Black Orb on the floor. Keojuyanto will take the Demon Bow, as well. Also, be sure to pick up the Demon Crown! On your way out, you'll see a huge yellow and blue monster floating over Osutorakon's body. He shows you the Angel's Crest, and disappears. A sequence will follow, and then you can leave the castle. (Do so!) --------X. Bajiru Town-------- Party: A 49, T 47, J 60, O 45 Enemies: Beastman (33 EXP, 91 G) Big Spiky Ball (33 EXP, 110 G) Blue Ninja (38 EXP, 84 G) Super Frankenstein (29 EXP, 31 G) Super Headless (36 EXP, 27 G) Weapon Shop: Awakened Sword (7000 G) Ancient Sword (8000 G) Armor Shop: Blessed Armor (10000 G) Gold Clothes (13000 G) Silver Shield (4200 G) Gold Glove (6500 G) Gold Helmet (7500 G) Item Shop: Tent (40 G) Ultimate Potion (10000 G) Quake Stone (5000 G) Remedy (180 G) Inn: 200 G From Osutorakon's Castle, head south until you run into a river. Walk along the river until you come across a bridge, and then cross it. Keep going south, along the coast, until you get to a town. Go into the house in the bottom right corner. In there, you'll meet Waramuru, who'll try to revive Hasuramu in the Black Orb. He says he needs a special type of plant to do it, though. He also says that the plant can be found on a mountain to the northwest. He joins you, and your party is once again full. Buy an Ancient Sword for Hosurou, and armor for everyone. There's also a Casino in this town, but I have no clue on how to play that game. Please e- mail me if you know how to do it. Anyway, go northwest of the town, and you'll be at a mountain... --------Y. Flower Mountain-------- Party: A 49, T 47, J 60, O 45, Waramuru (W) 60 Items: Healing Flower (Special Item) INT Potion POINT Potion Enemies: Amoeba ( Blue Ninja (38 EXP, 84 G) Purple Bug (30 EXP, 14 G) Super Frankenstein (29 EXP, 31 G) Giant Ant (53 EXP, 9 G) (BOSS ACCOMPLICE) Man Eater (BOSS) Enter the cave to the left, and go right, and exit downwards. Go left through the opening, and walk up, left and down. Now go left, up, and then save. Walk up the stairs. Waramuru will say that's the right flower, but then it turns into a giant monster! ***************************************************************************** BOSS 13: Man Eater (And Giant Ant x 5) Recommended Levels- A 49, T 47, J 60, O 45, W 60 Reward: 1377 EXP, 581 G Strategy- Feh, what a wimp. Don't pay any attention to the ants; just go for the Man Eater. You should take the main boss down in a turn or three, and the rest of the ants in another two. ***************************************************************************** After the battle, Waramuru will pick the flower. He'll be leaving soon, but don't take off all of his stuff, because you can't sell it. Return to his house in the town. Hasuramu will successfully be revived! Waramuru leaves, and Hasuramu takes his place. Walk back in Waramuru's house, and talk to him. Choose the first and last options, and he'll give you an INT Potion and a POINT Potion. Go back an Awakened Sword for Hasuramu, as well as some armor. When you're ready, go to the boat rental place in the upper left part of town. Talk to the guy, choose the first option, and walk outside. Ato will automatically walk into the boat and go to the next place. To go back, it'll cost 5000 G... So hopefully, you've got everything you needed. --------Z. The Little Town and the Shrine-------- Party: A 50, T 49, J 60, O 45, Hasuramu (H) 53 Item Shop Potion (10 G) Mega Potion (120 G) Tent (40 G) Hi-Potion (50 G) Inn: 500 G Enemies: Golden Fighter (130 EXP, 103 G) Golden Hawk (55 EXP, 1 G) Harpy (62 EXP, 597 G) (Regular enemy/Boss accomplice) Sandman (69 EXP, 41 G) Banshee (862 EXP, 850 G)(BOSS) To the south of the boat rental place is a small town with only an Inn and an Item Shop. Once you've rested, leave the town and walk down the east coast, until you come to a shrine like place. Enter. At the entrance, you'll fight a boss. ***************************************************************************** BOSS 14: Banshee (And Harpy x 6) Recommended Levels- A 51, T 50, J 60, O 45, H 53 Reward: 1234 EXP, 4432 G Strategy- Don't underestimate this guy. Also, don't transform into a dragon. The Harpies can put the hurt on Ato if he's weakened. Moving Ato up front early in the fight is also a bad choice, but there's not much else you can do. Either charge up to the Banshee or let him come to you. Charging allows the other Harpies to attack you, however. Hasuramu and Hosurou will also help you by dispatching a few Harpies, while Keojuyanto fires at them from afar. As for Atorushaso, don't make him go after the Harpies, as the Banshee can heal/revive them. Once the Banshee is killed, the fight will become a tad easier. Just kill Harpies left and right, and then this battle is won. ***************************************************************************** Now, enter the palace. Talk to the guy in the back, but something's wrong. Leave the palace, and get ready to enter the next area. From the palace, go northwest, and when you come to an intersection, go east. You'll see a cave; walk inside. --------AA. Pillar Cave-------- Party: A 52, T 51, J 60, O 45, H 53 Items: Red Scroll (Special Item) Golden Rock DEF Candy Enemies: Big Spiky Ball (33 EXP, 110 G) Giant Ant (53 EXP, 9 G) Monkey Demon (48 EXP, 95 G) (Regular Enemy/Boss Accomplice) Sand Insect (73 EXP, 120 G) Super Headless (36 EXP, 27 G) Silver Ama (1500 EXP, 5000 G) (BOSS) Walk through the left opening. Now, go up and to the right, and in the next area, keep going right to get a Golden Rock. Head back left, through the "door", and then go up and far to the left. Touch the pillar, and a blue aura will shine. Then the pillar will shrink. Continue up. Touch the pillar, which lets off red light, and it will shrink also. Keep going right, avoiding the path below you (There's nothing there). Continue to the right, touching the pillar (Yellow light this time), and it will (Surprise!) shrink. Keep going right. In this room, go straight down, and you'll get a chest with a STR Candy inside. Head back up, going right, and then down. Touch the green pillar on the way, and leave the room by going through the exit south of you. You'll be in the room you started. Go left, taking the first door you see. You'll be in a room, surrounded by lava. But since you touched the pillars, a bridge has been formed across it! On the other side, save, and fight the boss. ***************************************************************************** BOSS 15: Silver Ama (And Monkey Demon x 7) Recommended Levels- A 54, T 52, J 60, O 45, H 53 Reward: 1836 EXP, 5665 G Strategy- Heh, finally, a challenge. This guy has a full POINT gauge, and deals about 400-500 damage with each hit. Which means that's very bad for you. If you're extremely unlucky, he'll kill Atorushaso before he even gets a turn! Anyway, if you have Mega Potions, use them to heal Ato and then transform into the Yellow Dragon. This should seriously weaken the Monkey Demons, which get pretty annoying. Taruriso will heal you, while Hasuramu, Hosurou, and Keojuyanto pick off the Monkey Demons. On Ato's second turn, pummel the boss, who has VERY little HP. Phew... ***************************************************************************** After the battle, you'll get the Red Scroll. Head back to the shrine, only to found out that the guy STILL isn't happy. You must now go to another cave. Walk northwest of the shrine again, and this time, take the western path. When you see a lake, go south, and you should see a cave. Enter it. --------BB. In here, walk down the stairs below you, and pick up the Special Fruit. Walk all the way up, and go up the stairs. Head up the next set of stairs, too. Get the Golden Rock here, and fall off the cliff to the south. You'll be at the fork again. This time, fall down the right "prong". Walk up the stairs to the right, and get the ???. From here, fall off the cliff north of the stairs. Now walk STRAIGHT to the left, and you'll fall again. Walk up, and you'll face another boss... Uh-oh. ***************************************************************************** BOSS 16: Gold Ama (And Red... Blob... Thingie x 7) Recommended Levels- A 57, T 55, J 60, O 45, H 53 Reward: 2876 EXP, 8600 G Strategy- What's worse than the last boss you fought? A gold-plated version of the last boss you just fought, who can deal around 600 damage in a single hit! Fortunately for you, he's too stupid to set his troops right; he can't get past them to attack you! Of course, the red blobs will move away, so keep your feet on the ground. Also, this guy doesn't have as high of a POINT bar as the other guy did, so he'll probably only attack you twice per round. Just decimate blobs until Ato's second turn, and then tear him to shreds. Like the last boss, he has very little HP. ***************************************************************************** After the battle, you'll get a Blue Scroll. Now, go up, and keep walking up the stairs until you get to a chest. It has a Fate Sword inside. Walk up these stairs, and fall off a cliff. You should be at the fork again. Leave the caverns. Go back and talk to the guy in the shrine. After he talks to Taruriso, he opens up a staircase for you to use. Go down, and far to the right, and come back up. Leave this new shrine. Once you're outside, some guards will attack you! ***************************************************************************** BOSS 17: Bashiki (?) (And Golden Fighter x 5) Recommended Levels- A 58, T 56, J 60, O 45, H 53 Reward: 1850 EXP, 1515 G Strategy- Just whack 'em. And is it just me, or does it seem that the Golden Fighters do more damage than their leader? ***************************************************************************** Leave the area, and go towards the town in the east. --------CC. Then go right, up the next ladder. Then go left, up the ladder, and into the cave. Walk all the way to the left for a Tent, and then up. Go left, and grab the ??? outside. Go back inside, and head all the way to the right. You should be outside again. Walk across the bridge. Taruriso will notice something coming, and her instincts are right. The guy that appeared when you killed Osutorakon (Garushia) comes right in front of you. A cinema will take place, and you'll end up fighting him. ***************************************************************************** BOSS 18: Garushia (And Guard in Gold x 2) Recommended Levels- A 58, T 56, J 60, O 45, H 53 Reward: 1780 EXP, 1625 G Strategy- Easier than I thought he would be. He has a full POINT gauge, and can also summon Guards in Gold. And, he can do 400 damage per hit! Kill the guards quickly, and then waste him. He doesn't have much HP... ***************************************************************************** (Just a personal note: My G after this battle added up to exactly 60000!!! What are the odds?!) He'll fly away after the battle. Go through the door to the right, and then far up, and then right and down, through the door. Go left for Wararumu's Hat, and then up, entering the shrine. Talk to the guy, and something will happen to Keojuyanto... Don't worry, he doesn't leave. I'm not sure what happens, though. If someone could fill me in, I'd be grateful. Pick up the guy's remains, a "Megalixir". Now head to the back, and step on the portal. --------EE. Don't worry, though. They aren't as tough as some other enemies here. Walk left of the stairs for 100 G, and right of them to get a ???. Go back left and walk down the stairs. To the right of the stairs is a room with a treasure box. However, it contains a trap; if you open it, you'll have to fight 3 Evil Boxes!!! And they're more than tough. Save before attempting to fight them! Anyway, from the stairs, go up until you reach the intersection. Go left, and enter the first door you see. Keep going up, and open the treasure chest for a Hunter's Buckler. Head back down. Go left, and if you have a death wish, go down and fight the boxes. You don't stand a chance against them, unless you did some serious leveling previously. Instead of going down, go up. Fight the guy above you. Again, not that hard. Go up, and there's a Quake Stone to the right of the staircase. Now, go down the stairs. Go down, right, and up. Go to the right of the door to get a Bold Sword. Head through the door, down the stairs, and far up. Walk up these stairs, and go south. In here, go right, and then up the stairs. Go south, and fight the Piker, with 5 Headless Knights. A little bit tougher, but you can take 'em. Go down the stairs, head left, up, and fight the Ninja Soldier. He has a VERY annoying Sleep attack, but besides that, he's no match for you. Keep it up! Go through the door to get a Tent. The go out, and up the stairs to the left. Walk near the soldier, save, and use a Tent. Once you're ready, fight the guy. Although he's not a boss, I have some advice for you: -DO- -NOT- -CHARGE-!!!! He killed me in one turn once, so you have to be really careful. Take out a smaller guard, and then drop back. Fortunately (VERY fortunately), he has a low DEF, as well as HP. Take him out -VERY- -QUICKLY-!!!!!!!!!!! After this battle, -use another Tent-, and -S-A-V-E-! When you're ready, enter the door... You'll see Garushia again, and after a long sequence, you'll fight him. ***************************************************************************** BOSS 19: Garushia (And Soul Reaper x 2) Recommended Levels- A 63, T 61, J 60, O 45, H 53 Reward: 3600 EXP, 1616 G Strategy- Without a doubt, the hardest boss so far. He has that 500-all attack, as well as a normal attack that hits for 700. Even worse, he has a full POINT gauge, and can create more Soul Reapers. And the absolute worst thing about this battle is his ability to heal himself... for 9500 HP each time!!!!! First, run up and quickly kill the Soul Reapers, and the run back down and give Garushia all you've got. It's very hard not to lose the rest of your party members. Taruriso MUST stay alive if you want to win. Try to take him out quickly, before he kills all of your allies. If he creates a Soul Reaper, then kill it before attacking Garushia, unless Garushia is nearly dead (Flashing red). Good luck, you're going to need a lot of it. ***************************************************************************** After the battle, Garushia will disintegrate, and Keojuyanto will do something. This something makes the fourth dragon gem, the Black Dragon Claw, appear. After picking it up, the tower will start to shake. Then Taruriso summons a bright light, and everything goes black... Taruriso is at the shore at a beach, waking up from her unconsciousness. Watch the rest of the scene yourself, as I don't want to spoil anyone who read ahead. (It's a pretty cute scene, too) Taruriso meets up with Ato, Keo, and Hasu, and after some more talking, they'll teleport to Erubadono Town (The town where you fought the second boss, the Caped Guy) It seems a parade is being held, since you destroyed the enemy forces. At the castle, you'll see many of your friends, including Hasurou, Wararumu, and a few more. You'll walk inside, and meet an old friend again- Barusomuga! They're be much more talking, and when you finally leave, Barusomuga comes and stops you. He shows you where Faruna is before he leaves. Outside, Hosurou will leave your party to go with Wararumu. Now, you have the ability to teleport. Just choose the third option in the Menu (Item), and go to your special items, and choose the Triangle Pendant. You can warp to any town you've visited this way. --------FF. Go into the upper-right house, talk to the lady in the back, and choose the first option to get a Silver Rock. Now, go back to Bajiru Town. It's the second town on the map. Talk to Wararumu, and choose all of his choices. He'll eventually give you a DEF Potion and a HP Potion. Go to the third town, the town where Yaman was killed. Talk to the girl in the upper right corner of the bar, and choose the first option. If you have the Necklace you found in the lake, you'll give it to her, but she won't give you anything. Head to the eighth town on the map, the castle you were just at. Inside, go through the left and right doors, to get a King's Armor, 100 G, King's Sword, and Queen's Robe. Leave this castle, and walk north, towards a castle surrounded by water. Remember this place? Well, there's a chest here that has a Defender's Armor in it. Now, go to the next to last town on the map (The one in the forest). Go south, and follow the path as you did before. Enter the crumbled town below a hidden tree... What a weird place. Talk to everyone, and then enter the upper right house. Go down the stairs, and head up. Walk around, talking to everyone you see. What does this solve? I'm not sure. --------GG. Walk southwest of here, and you'll eventually reach a desert. Once you're actually in the desert, walk far to the northwest. Once you're there, you'll see Faruna! After Hasuramu and Faruna have a long talk, Faruna will rejoin your party, and she's stronger than ever. And right now, you're about to head into the final steps of the game... Make sure Taruriso is at least level 64 before heading north. At level 64, she learns a spell that completely heals the HP of an ally. And there's one more thing you better do... Go to the second town, left to right, and talk to Wararumu. Choose the first option and pay 10000 G. He'll raise Hasuramu's level from 53... to 90! That's more than worth it. Now, go back to the desert, and walk north and east from where Faruna was. You'll see a panel on the ground. Step onto it, and a bird will come and attack you. ***************************************************************************** BOSS 20: Ra (And Sand Scorpion x 7) Recommended Levels- A 67, T 65, J 86, H 90, F 80 Reward: 3144 EXP, 800 G Strategy- SOMEBODY'S having turkey tonight... This bird is toast. Pathetic. Use the Black Dragon Claw to get rid of the Scorpions, and either Faruma or Taruriso will heal you. Then kill the birdie. Walk to the right, up the ladder, left, up the ladder, right, and then up. You'll fight a boss. ***************************************************************************** BOSS 21: Hadisu Eye x 2 Recommended Levels- A 69, T 67, J 86, H 90, F 80 Reward: 4000 EXP, 2 G Strategy- BOTH of the eyes have a 500-all attack. And they can use it several times per round. Thankfully, you've got Faruna and Taruriso on your side! Concentrate on one eye, and then go after the other. Don't be scared if one of your characters get to the critical stage; just pray that your healers heal the right person! What would we do without our mage buddies? ***************************************************************************** After the battle, you'll get... The Red Dragon Horn!!! Now walk up, and Atorushaso will pull the sword out of the ground... The Force Sword! If you're ready to leave this world, choose the first option. If you aren't, choose the second. When you're ready, your Dragon Gems will fly up into the air, and each one will teleport a different character. Guards will surround you, so Taruriso tries to teleport; she fails. Then a man comes up, and takes your party members captive. Everyone except Taruriso is imprisoned in a cell. The Force Sword talks to Ato telepathically, and tells him a little bit about Taruriso. She's being made to wear a different outfit, which is unheard of in most RPGs! She must get her normal clothes back. Walk to the left part of the room, and check the mirror. Now, go over to the door. You'll open it. Outside, guards will see you, and they'll try to push you back in. But a mysterious man comes and slays them. Then he gives her her clothes back (YaY!). She changes, and the guy does something else, I'm not sure what. Leave the door at the bottom, and talk to the guy. Follow him to the right; that's where your friends are being held. He'll free them, and they'll rejoin your party. Head to the house in the bottom-left-hand corner. Talk to the guy there; he gives you as many Tents, Ultimate Potions, and Remedies as you want! And all for FREE~! Once you're ready, head north, go up the stairs, and enter the door. Walk right, and enter the door for Taruriso's Final Mace. Head right and all the way up, for 100 G (...). Head left and down, and go through the door, to get Faruna's Final Bow. Leave the room, go left and up, and walk up the stairs. Walk up the stairs, to get to the next area. To the left of an entrance is a chest, but it's a trap; it contains Evil Boxes. The left door has an Ultimate Potion, and the door to the far right has a chest with Evil Boxes in it. Go up the stairs, and go left to get a Mega Potion. In the door here is an Evil Box chest. Go down the stairs, walk left, and walk up these stairs. You'll get a Golden Rock (?) up here. Walk to the right. There's an Evil Box chest to the right, so avoid it. Walk up the stairs, and go through the door on the right. Inside, walk to the right, and far up. Now go left, and all the way down. To the left, and up, is a chest with a Final Hat, for Taruriso. Now go down, right, and up, heading up the stairs. Walk down, left, and up to get a Final Vest, for Keojuyanto. Now head down, right, and down, and you'll be outside again. Walk up the stairs, to get something you can't use. I dunno what it is. Head down, left, and walk through the door. Walk all the way up; past the stairs is a measly 100 G. Are the creators of this mocking us or something?! Anyway, walk up the stairs. Walk up the first set of stairs, and enter the door to the left if you need a Tent. Leave this room, and head through the evil-looking big doors above. Save, and use a Tent. Walk all the way around, and walk up the stairs. Here, you'll meet the big bad boss. ***************************************************************************** BOSS 22: Desodatesu (And Horusoyaito x 5) Recommended Levels- A 75+, T 73+, J 86, H 90, F 80 Reward: 6214 EXP, 0 G Strategy- Be very, very careful. The Horusoyaito do about 1200 each per turn, and Desodatesu does even more. Take out all of the Horusoyaito before slicing Desodatesu, since they can heal their master. Ato himself should be able to take one out on his own, and all of the other characters will be a MAJOR help. While Faruna and Taruriso heal, Keojuyanto and Hasuramu will inflict HUGE damage. Desodatesu himself doesn't have much HP, but since he can create more henchmen, and since his henchmen heal him, it's best to take him down quickly. Like many other bosses, Desodatesu doesn't have much HP. ***************************************************************************** After the battle, Desodatesu will transform into a huge, ugly, monster, and will attack again. Get ready for the final boss... ***************************************************************************** BOSS 23 ---FINAL BOSS--- ZANDIDA (And Desuhapi x 5) Recommended Levels- A 75+, T 73+, J 86, H 90, F 80 Reward: 7450 EXP, 0 G Strategy- Ay yai yai... On your first turn, -MOVE ATO OUT OF THE FRONT OF THE BOSS-!!! He has this huge beam attack which causes 1500 damage to anyone standing in front of him. Instead of a direct charge, go to the left side of him, and kill the Desuhapis; they have an annoying Freeze spell. Hopefully, you've gotten 99 Remedies from that guy in the beginning of this place. Yes, they cure Freeze. If Ato is frozen, though, then you can't use them... Always keep your allies unfrozen, as you can't beat this boss without them. Taruriso's and Faruna's healing abilities will help you out majorly, one last time. Faruna can also do noticeable damage to the boss. Hasuramu and Keojuyanto do even more, if they have good weapons equipped. When Zandida is flashing red, I'd use the Red Dragon Horn, just because you've hardly used it at all. Good luck beating this guy. ***************************************************************************** Enjoy the ending! I know I did. I wish it showed what Hararumu, Hasurou, and Barusomuga were up to. And a little background information on Keojuyanto wouldn't hurt, either. But, do pat yourself on the back for beating this game. It's the first Japanese game I've ever beaten, and I've learned many new words (As well as $30! Heh heh). I hope you got something out of it, too. Well, I've accomplished my mission. I've walked you through the game, and now it's... (Sniffle) Time to say goodbye... I hoped I helped you. If a translation patch ever comes out for this, I'll be sure to update this FAQ. Maybe we'll see each other again... Good-bye! ~Chris, Sweet Vengeance P.S.: Barusomuga and Hasuramu own you!!! ***************************************************************************** VI. Special Thanks ***************************************************************************** I'd like to thank... * JWPce, for helping me with quite a few translations. In fact, I couldn't have done this without them... * Random House, for creating a dictionary that helped me muy mucho! I got the names of bosses and characters from this, among many other things. If you want to learn Japanese, then I highly recommend getting this dictionary. It's the Japanese-English English-Japanese Dictionary, Copyrighted 1997 by Random House, Inc., written by Seigo Nakao. This not only contains Japanese words, but also Katakana, Hiragana, and Kanji characters! * CJayC, the owner of GameFAQs, for having this much devotion to this site. I could never maintain a site so large, yet he takes care of everything alone. How does he do it?! I'd also like to thank CJayC for putting up a $30 FAQ Bounty for this game. Thank you, CJayC! * Mediaworks, for creating this game. It's too bad this was never released in America... * CJayC again, for publishing this FAQ. * Myself, for translating and writing a walkthrough for Emerald Dragon. * And, of course, YOU for reading my work! What's the use of a FAQ if nobody reads it?! ***************************************************************************** VIII. Contact Information ***************************************************************************** My e-mail address is cstrittyrun@hotmail.com . But, before you e-mail me, make sure you don't do any of these things: Don't make fun of me. I'm a sensitive guy, and I cry when mean people laugh at me... Try to make sure what you're asking isn't covered in the FAQ. Don't tell me I suck at Japanese; I already know that. Don't send me lots of letters, unless they're accompanied by intelligence. Don't ask me to be your friend; I have no friends, and it's going to stay that way. Don't make fun of me. I know I'm repeating myself, but I'm extremely sensitive. Thanks, and see you! ***************************************************************************** IX.
