Against certain bosses (Elder Dragons, for example), the board will change size and appearance. When a character's turn arrives, they can move around the board to the extent of their movement limit, then press the A button to bring up the list of Battle Commands (see below). Every group of enemies has a leader, designated by a crown that appears over their head after they've been attacked. Once the leader has been killed, the rest of the enemies will be defeated as well. If you can position the enemy leader in the most upper-left row and strike them up-left, they will be pushed off of the battle board into a hole. When this happens, "Check Mate" will appear on the screen and all enemies will be defeated for an easy win. This also gets the party twice as much Experience Points for the battle. To run away from a battle, move any character off the bottom-right of the battle board. Sometimes, the party will be unable to flee, however. If a character reaches 0 LP in battle, they will vanish and be unable to fight. When the battle is over, they be revived at 1 LP. If a character reaches 0 MP in battle, they will gain 'Stun' status and be unable to do anything, plus they count as if they were dead. It is theregore unwise to have a mage use all their MP while in battle. - Controls - See Section II (Controls) under 'Battle'. - Battle Commands - -Attack Character performs a physical attack with their equipped weapon. Range and damage depend on the weapon equipped. -Magic Calls up the magic menu. Select a spell to use and its area of effect. -Defend Character's defense increases until next turn. -Item Calls up the item menu. Select an item to use and a space to use it on -Special Calls up the Special menu. Each character has unique skills that cost MP. - Status Abnormalities - Some attacks or spells can cause negative or postitive effects to a character or enemy. Here are a list of abnormalities: {Status} {Icon} {Effect} +----------------+---------+--------------------------------------------------+ | Curse | Skull | Statistics decrease | | Poison | Bottle | Lose some LP every turn | | Petrify | N/A | Character turns to stone, unable to do anything | | | | and loses some LP every turn | | Blind | Glasses | Decrease in accruracy | | Flame Body | Fire | Defense increases against Fire attacks | | Stop | Foot | Unable to move on battle board | | Silence | ...'s | Unable to cast spells | | Sleep | Z's | Unable to do anything until hit | | Spirit Barrier | Waves | ? | | Stun | Star | Character cannot do anything, counts as dead; | | | | this happens to characters when they reach 0 MP | | Confuse | ?'s | Loss of control, attacks automatically | +----------------+---------+--------------------------------------------------+ - Special - Every character has a special ability unique to their class that can only be used in battle. They engage in battle, striking with all their strength and casting their most powerful spells, but nothing has any effect. Suddenly, Pharis casts a powerful earthquake spell. Her evil sword, Soul Crusher, strikes Flauss. She falls over, injured. Beld runs to her side, and the sword strikes at him too. But Karla appears and turns the Soul Crusher aside. Flauss dies, Beld walks to the weapon and inspects it, triggering a flashback of a village with Flauss in it. He then picks up the Soul Crusher, the illusion vanished and the battle begins anew. The party, lead by Beld wielding the Soul Crusher, strikes at Pharis until she falls. But it is an empty victory for Beld, who remorses Flauss. The other party members gather around Karla, as she vanishes. The battle is over. Time passes.. And Karla awakens.. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ [Scenario I] Part I - Awakening +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[World Map Enemies] | |Green Thief (40 LP - 50 Exp - 26 Gold) | |Red Thief (30 LP - 40 Exp - 15 Gold) | | | |Orc (35 LP - 70 Exp - 31 Gold) | |Wolf (35 LP - 60 Exp - 9 Gold) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Karla will wake up in the basement of some house. After some text, walk up the stairs to the east. Exit the door to the south for some more text. Sleep in the bed to save. Exit to the south again and head down the staircase. The door under the stairs won’t open, so head south once more and exit the building. Head south to find a river and a freaked out thief. He’ll start to question Karla, then fight her. Don’t worry if he kills Karla in one hit, because the circlet posseses him and Karla will take over his body. Karla will automatically walk down to the ocean and say a few lines. Equip the new body, then head west and onto the map screen. Go west until you reach enter town. Go into the bottom-right houses and talk to the people inside. Then leave town and head northwest to the empty house. Enter, and Karla will walk up to and examine the bookcase in the back. A mage will enter and attack Karla, killing her. As before, Karla's circlet will possess his body, which is already level 20 and has the ability to cast a large assortment of spells. Head back to the mansion Karla started at and open the locked door. Open the chest. Then leave the mansion and head back to the town. Enter the dock house just up and to the right of the city, and the dwarf that is usually guarding his boat will be in his house. Walk up to the boat, and Karla will steal it as the dwarf runs out and yells at her. On the ocean, a huge monster will surface and Karla will freak out. It will then attack: +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Sea Monster (600 LP - 10000 Exp - 1200 Gold) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ After the fight, Karla will dock at a port identical to the one she left. Along the way, there is another sealed identical to the one on the last island. Also on the way is a wooden gate guarded by two knights that cannot be passed. Continue southwest to a city. Enter the house up the stairs from the city entrance, then talk to the man in the top right. He will attack Karla and kill her, thus leaving himself open for possessing. He’s a much stronger physical attacker than Karla's last mage body, with a level of 38. Karla will still have all the spells of her mage form. There’s a temple in the top left corner of town. In the back room is a priest that Karla can possess. That body adds many more powerful spells to Karla's arsenal. The house with two doors in the southwest of town also has a body, this one being a thief who can hit enemies from anywhere on the battle board. Going into the basement of the bottom left house will meet Karla up with an elf girl named Lion. She will begin to attack Karla, but another elf named Swan will stop her. Lion will look at Karla and freak out. Both elves will kneel, then Karla will begin to black out. After a lot more dialogue, Swan will leave and Lion will join the party. After Lion joins, go up the stairs and exit the house. Leave the town and head east along the path to a lake, then head southwest until reaching a cave in the mountain range. Enter the cave. An inn is found right outside the caverns, so heal up and save. After that, head up all the stairs and enter the cave behind the dwarf. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Dungeon Enemies] | |Basilisk (400 LP - 3610 Exp - 144 Gold) SP: Long range, Pertify | |Blob (600 LP - 1690 Exp - 218 Gold) SP: Defense, Energy Bolt 1 | |Dark Ghost (500 LP - 1960 Exp - 136 Gold) SP: Defense, Energy Bolt 1, FireBug| |Ghost (250 LP - 2350 Exp - 198 Gold) SP: Defense, Energy Bolt 1 | |Manticore (850 LP - 2900 Exp - 112 Gold) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Getting near the chest around the corner from the entrance will drop to a lower floor. After more dialogue, the mage will bring Karla over to his crystal ball. A short scene will follow in which Swan gets fried by an armored demon. Karla and Lion exchange some words, then leave. Get all the chests, then enter far right teleporter and enter the door near there. examine the golems and Karla and Lion will say some things. examine the one beside the one in the top-left to take/destroy it. exit the room, step on the teleporter and return to the main room. now go up to the glowing door and examine it to destroy it, then step on the teleporter behind it. follow the path around and enter the door. Karla and Lion will approach the next door, and Karla will cast a spell that awakens the two gargoyles there. A fight will start against two Lesser Demons, then the path will be open to the next hallway. Proceed there. The next hallway leads to a barred-off prison room with Swan in shackles. Lion will freak upon seeing her, then smash the door down and free her. Swan sees that Karla's host body is dying and decides to sacrifice herself. Swan will attack Karla, killing her and getting possesed by the circlet. All of Karla's abilities will be given to Swan, along with the spells the elf already had. Don't forget to equip before proceeding to the next room. Enter the gold door to meet the demon that attacked Swan in the crystal ball vision. It summons a pair of Greater Demons and attacks. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Bull Demon (5900 LP - 31500 Exp - 2589 Gold) SP: Blizzard, FireBug | |Greater Demon (950 LP - 9500 Exp - 290 Gold) SP: Blind, FireBug | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ A long battle, but Bull Demon can be beaten by taking out his two Goat Gargoyles first, then putting Lion and Karla on either side of it and attacking. If the Demon casts any spells, it will hit itself as well. When the Demon falls, Karla and Lion will talk a bit, then the scene changes to Karla (still with Swan's body) standing in the basement room that the game started in, as a bunch of text scrolls past. Scenario I with Karla ends. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ [SCENARIO II] Part I - Entrance +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[World Map Enemies] | |Cleric (300 LP - 2000 Exp - 632 Gold) SP: Healing | |Dark Elf (400 LP - 3000 Exp - 86 Gold) SP: Silence, Valkyrie's Javelin 1 | |Knight (500 LP - 5000 Exp - 743 Gold) | |Mage (300 LP - 1200 Exp - 259 Gold) SP: Lightning | |Priest (300 LP - 2300 Exp - 800 Gold) SP: Blind, Cure, FireBug, Force | |Thief (300 LP - 980 Exp - 87 Gold) SP: Long range | | | |Dark Orc (100 LP - 504 Exp - 19 Gold) | |Orc (250 LP - 632 Exp - 97 Gold) | |Orc Shaman (400 LP - 3144 Exp - 738 Gold) SP: Firebolt 1 | | | |Manticore (850 LP - 2900 Exp - 112 Gold) | |Treant (750 LP - 2600 Exp - 33 Gold) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ After Karla's scenario ends, the scene will change to a port town and more text will scroll by. Then the scene will change to a boat and a man named Beld will step off and speak. After that, take control of Beld and explore the town. (*NOTE: Beld is a tricky character to keep at full LP. He doesn't regain LP from Inns, so be sure to stock up on healing potions. He does regain all his LP whenever the enemies' King is killed in battle, but be careful when walking because Beld loses 5 LP every few steps on the map. It's like he's poisoned, but can't be cured. This is all due to his evil sword and armor, which cannot be removed.) Go the the Inn and speak with Ash, then leave the Inn and go to the bottom-left house. Beld will enter and speak to the mage inside, then draw his sword. The mage will cast some shield spell and then die. Beld is surrounded by energy for a moment, then leaves. Now is the time to explore the island. Beld cannot enter the temple to the east for now. To the east is a field that goes into a close screen when entered, but is empty and can be left simply by moving off either the left or right side. There's yet another Face Mountain to the far east, but no use yet. Return to town after some exploring, and several people will flee past Beld in a panic. An orc will run forward and Beld will draw his sword for battle. Defeat the orc for an easy LP refill. Beld will run forward into town past many frantic citizens and come across another orc. Another easy battle. After this, Ash from the Inn will approach Beld and talk to him. They run towards the Inn together and see a trio of orcs, one of them a shaman. They draw their swords and attack. This battle is just as easy as the past two orc encounters, and now Ash will join the party. His level is lower than Beld's, so be sure to equip him well. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ [SCENARIO II] Part II - Exploration +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ With Ash in the party, Beld can now enter the temple to the east. Enter, then go into the door on the right. Beld will speak with the priest inside, and one of the acolytes will leave. A priest named Unbus will take his place, say a few words to Beld, then join the party. His many cure spells make him a great asset to the group. Leave the temple and head east to where the Face Mountain was to see that it is now a cave. Enter to find another dungeon. Since Karla's not around with her Map spell, navigating this dungeon is more trial-and-error than the last. Go up-right and try to open the door at the fork in the road. It's locked, so head up-left, down-left, up-left, up-right, then up-left and enter the door. Walk through the room and exit to the left. Continue to the right along the edge of the dungeon. Don't enter the door to the bottom-left or it will lock the party out at the dungeon's entrance. Instead, continue up-right to exit the dungeon and emerge into a field, as a frightened elf girl runs away. The party will walk forward and come face to face with three dark elves, the leader named Ruzebu and two others, one female and one male. A battle ensues. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Female Dark Elf (750 LP) | |Male Dark Elf (850 LP) | |Ruzebu (800 LP) SP: Valkyrie's Javelin 1 | |Total: (16800 Exp - 473 Gold) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ After the battle, another dark elf will run onto the field, then a dragon will follow and kill her with its flame breath. The male dark elf from the previous battle, Saccris, will yell something as the other female dark elf attacks the dragon and dies. Beld and his party attack. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Green Dragon (1100 LP - 10890 Exp - 139 Gold) SP: Poison | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Ruzebu rejoices that the dragon is defeated, and Saccris joins the party. The party will return to the dungeon, but can enter the dark elf town by returning to where the dragon was fought. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ [SCENARIO II] Part III - Dragonslayer +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Exit the cave and head south to the large field that zooms in when approached, then enter the Item screen and find the item koro~notsunobue and use it. A cutscene will ensue in which Beld will blow a horn and summons a gigantic black dragon. A battle follows. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Black Dragon 1 (Infinite LP) SP: Flame Breath (2x2 area) | | Note: Black Dragon takes up most of the battle board and doesn't move. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ After several rounds of the party dealing very little damage, the scene will switch back to the field and Beld will power-up. The battle will then continue and the group will inflict normal damage. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Black Dragon 2 (6700 LP - 25580 Exp - 0 Gold) SP: Flame Breath (2x2 area) | | Note: Black Dragon takes up most of the battle board and doesn't move. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ After beating the dragon, it will run away and Beld will talk with his party. The queen then takes the king away and Fahn is free to go. Remember that down the stairs, in the door on the right is a soldier that will let the party rest for free. Attempt to leave the city and a priest will take Fahn to Deyupa. After that conversation has ended, leave the room south and talk to Tessius, and he will join the party. Cross the bridge to the east and go a short distance northeast to reach a village. The group will proceed into the middle of the town and come accross a trio of blue villagers, who will turn into ghosts and attack. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Blue Ghost (300 LP - 2350 Exp - 198 Gold) SP: Firebug | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ After the battle, Fahn and Tessius will exhange some sorrowful words, then continue on. Enter to find a Pegasus. Tessius will startle the creature, then Fahn will befriend it and the Pegasus will join the party as an NPC. Leave the room and follow the path outside the dungeon, which will seal itself afterwards. From the dungeon entrance, head south to the forest area and approach the large tree. A cutscene will show the Pegasus flying away. Return to the city and the party will once again be called to Deyupa. When the talking is over, leave the castle and return to town, then go to the upper- left corner of town and climb the staircase to enter the church. Once inside, enter the door to the right of the stairs to meet with Gurrek and other priest. Head back upstairs to the top floor of the castle and Parn will tell the king what happened. Exit the castle to the world map. Head north-east to and through the gate, then north-west to the castle. Upon arriving at the castle, the party will meet the dark knight Ashram. He will talk with Parn and then fight him. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Ashram (Infinite LP) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Parn will lose the fight, and Ashram will walk away. Afterwards, Parn and Slayn will talk to the king, then exit the castle. From here, go back to King Fahn's castle, then head to the north-west corner of the continent and pass through the wooden gate there. Select the second option and the party will enter the desert castle. Head north and up the stairs to enter the throne room, and talk to the soldier furthest back. Afterwards, exit the castle and select the third option to venture into the desert. The party will automatically wander around for a couple screens, talking at each stop. After the second cutscene, a group of green worms will attack. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Green Worm (900 LP - 7340 Exp - 68 Gold) SP: Extra move | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ A bit of talking will ensue. The party will travel another screen and encounter a group of zombie worms. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Green Worm (700 LP - 6330 Exp - 89 Gold) SP: Undead, Extra move | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Once again, the party will chat a bit and travel yet another screen. Parn will rush in and assist Fahn. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Giant Ant (1600 LP - 18340 Exp - 2980 Gold) SP: Extra move | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Parn then kneels before Fahn and they exchange words. Slayn casts a teleport spell and they return to the desert castle. Suddenly, Karla appears and sends a pair of Golems at the party. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Golem (1000 LP - 10900 Exp - 320 Gold) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Karla will vanish and the party will enter the castle. Return to the throne room and speak with Fahn. Leave Fahn's desert castle, and choose the third option. The party will find themselves in a mountainous region that leads north and south. South leads back to Fahn's desert castle, while the Red Dragon waits to the north. Be careful: the Red Dragon is a far more difficult foe than any to date. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Red Dragon (18400 LP - 25580 Exp - 50000 Gold) SP: Fireball | | Note: Red Dragon takes up most of the battle board and doesn't move. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ The Red Dragon is extremely powerful and worth a huge amount of experience and gold. It can also be fought at any time if the party returns to the area. After the fight, go south and return to the desert castle, then exit and choose the first option to return to the wooden gate. From there, head southeast to Fahn's castle, enter, and talk to Fahn in the throne room. After some dialogue with Parn, Slayn and Ghim, exit the castle to the world map and head southwest to the gate, and pass through. Once on the other side, venture southwest to a range of mountains and enter the cave there (this was the first dungeon in Scenario I with Karla). Upon climbing the stairs to the tunnel entrance, Lion and two soldiers will appear and attack the party. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Lion (2900 LP) | |Soldier (900 LP) | |Total (16750 Exp - 315 Gold) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Lion will fall back and die after the fight, and the party can enter the dungeon. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Dungeon Enemies] | |Basilisk (400 LP - 4610 Exp - 150 Gold) SP: Petrify | |Blue Ghost (700 LP - 3560 Exp - 138 Gold) SP: Undead | |Jelly (900 LP - 5690 Exp - 189 Gold) SP: Poison | |Lesser Demon (800 LP - 4580 Exp - 167 Gold) SP: Blind | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ The path to the other side follows the same route as Karla's trek through. Follow the path from the entrance, and take the road up-left at the fork. Take the first path up-right, then the first path up-left, and then head up-right along the wall of doors. Enter the farthest right door, and Woodchuck will run forward to examine a pair of gargoyle statues in front of the next door. The statues come to life and attack. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Lesser Demon (200 LP - 880 Exp - 93 Gold) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ The statues are gone, so enter the door they were guarding and follow the path up-left then down-left until reaching a fork. Take the path around past the door, then up-left as far as the path goes. Take two steps down-left, then go down-right as far as possible. Go down-left until reaching a wall, then down-right and take the second path down-left. Zig-zag along the path down-right, down-left, down-right, then follow the bottom wall around to another fork. Take the first path up-right and follow it around to a staircase. On the next floor, follow the path up-left, taking the first branch up-right. Simply follow that path around to a gold door, and enter it. Woodchuck and Deedlit will find a chest in the middle of the room, and Deed will get sucked into it. Parn jumps in after her. They both find themselves in an unknown canyon, and begin walking north. A dragon appears, as does the rest of the party. A battle ensues. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Dragonet (4500 LP - 21580 Exp - 439 Gold) SP: Extra move, Fireball | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ With the Dragon dead, the party will exit the dungeon and automatically walk over to the same Tower that Karla visited in Scenario I. Before entering, a cutscene will show Wort in the tower being visited by Karla. Enter the tower and Karla will vanish, and the party will have a very long chat with Wort and leave. When the party exits the Tower area, a cutscene will show Beld talking to his army from his castle, and another will show Karla laughing in her chamber. Then the party will be back on the world map. Head southeast to the dungeon and pass back through uneventfully. Once at the other side, go northeast to the gate and pass through. Pass Fahn's castle and cross the bridge, then continue east and pass through the gate. Pass north through the elves' forest and emerge on the world map. From there, head southeast and enter the gate to the south of the city. Time for war. A cutscene will play with Ghim attacking an army of Marmo soldiers. He gets surrounded, and a flame spell from Slayn takes out the enemies. In another part of the field, a group of soldiers surround a priest, which turns into a ghost and kills one of the men. Etoh rushes in and attacks the ghost with the rest of the party. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Ghost (1000 LP - 4945 Exp - 48 Gold) SP: Undead | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ In yet another part of the battlefield, Parn and Deedlit once again encounter Ashram. Parn agrees to man-to-man combat. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Ashram (500 LP - 12500 Exp - 1400 Gold) | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ After Ashram falls, Emperor Beld appears, then King Fahn. They exchange words, the Beld laughs and they fight. After many mighty blows and spells, Fahn falls and dies. In another scene, Karla laughs in her chamber. She casts a spell that makes Beld vanish from the battlefield. After a lot more text, the party rests on the battlefield. Wort appears and talks some more, and the party finds themselves outside the gate again. Return northwest to the large tree and pass back to the last continent. Cross the bridge and enter Fahn's castle. Go to the throne room and talk to the Queen. A cutscene will play with Parn and Deedlit on a castle balcony, another with Woodchuck sneaking around the castle and getting caught by Slayn, yet another with Etoh talking to the Queen, and finally one of Ghim alone on the castle wall. Parn wakes up the next day and meets Etoh outside his room. They meet up with the rest of the party on the way out. Exit the castle and town, then cross the bridge to the east and head to the northern mountain range. Enter the dungeon there. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Dungeon Enemies] | |Blue Troll (1000 LP - 11800 Exp - 390 Gold) SP: Sleep, Lightning | |Greater Demon (900 LP - 11500 Exp - 378 Gold) SP: Blind, FireBug | |Grey Ghost (850 LP - 19000 Exp - 59 Gold) SP: Death, Undead | |Hydra (1100 LP - 12300 Exp - 59 Gold) SP: Fireball | |Metal Golem (1500 LP - 12800 Exp - 798 Gold) | |Lesser Demon (800 LP - 8800 Exp - 189 Gold) SP: Firebug | |Stone Golem (1000 LP - 10900 Exp - 320 Gold) SP: Sleep | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ From the entrance, follow the path and enter the door. In that room, take the right door and zig-zag east until reaching the easternmost wall of the dungeon, the work northwest and pass through a door to enter the room in the middle of the dungeon. Pass through that room and follow the path southwest until reaching another door. Instead of entering that door, take the path northwest and follow the path northeast to reach a staircase in the upper-right corner of the dungeon. Take those stairs down. On the next floor, take the upper door and pass through that room. Wind along the path down-left, then wind up-left to reach a door in the upper-leftmost corner of the floor. Enter it and the party will be attacked by a Metal Golem. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |[Event Battle Enemies] | |Metal Golem (1500 LP - 52800 Exp - 798 Gold) SP: Defense | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ (to be continued...) _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ (VII) [Secrets] - Easy Normal Battle Win - To easily win a normal non-event battle, have a priest use their Turn Undead ability on all the opponents. This will not deal any damage, but it will reveal the leader of the enemies. Afterwards, simply have a sorcerer cast Disintegrate on the leader to quickly win the battle. - Ghost of Fahn Glitch - After King Fahn dies in the battle with Beld in Scenario IV, return to Fahn's castle and enter the throne room. Naturally, only the Queen will be there. Leave the room via the staircase in the corner or the balcony on the left wall, then return to the throne room. For some reason, Fahn will be seated in his throne until the party leaves the room. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ (VIII) [FAQ] - What is 'Record of Lodoss War'? Record of Lodoss War is the Japanese equivalant of Dungeons & Dragons in America. It spawned an anime movie and cartoon series, and this game is based upon the movie. - Why does all the text make no sense? Because it's in Japanese. Record of Lodoss War is a Japanese Super Famiciom game and was never ported to the American Super Nintendo system. - So how do I play it? Learn Japanese. Wander aimlessly without knowing any of the story. Or if you're into emulation, Lina`chan, Nuku-Nuku and Filia's Translations Domain (http://translations.animangarpg.org) is working on a translation patch for the ROM image of the game. - Can you send me the ROM? No. Don't be lame. - Can I play this game on my American Super Nintendo system? No, and yes. The cartridge will work in an American console, but there are two plastic tabs inside the cartridge slot that prevent imported game from fitting in properly. They can be easily removed with a pair of pliers, but doing so voids the console's warrenty (which probably expired years ago anyway). In any case, do so at your own risk. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ (IX) [Acknowledgments] -CJayC, the tireless owner of GameFAQs. -Kadokawa, for making this game. -Hino Rei, for the Horn information to complete Beld's Scenario. -Damius, for translating some Spells and Abilities. -Jade, for helping decifer some more Spells. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________
