RPGClassics Paper Mario Shrine

Take a Mario game, pound everything as flat as Paper, throw it into an RPG, and you might end up with something like this game. A big gamble on Nintendo's part, Paper Mario ended up being one of the most refreshing and purely fun games ever released on the N64. Mario joins up with several helper characters throughout the course of the game, each with his or her own special ability. These characters and their abilities are essential for Mario both in battle and on the field. The game itself plays more like a Mario game than Super Mario RPG, and it's blessed with some of the best graphics on the N64. It's not a particularly difficult or long game, but Intelligent Systems did an excellent job on Paper Mario for what it is. And what it is is a genuinely fun game.
